Abscess Blues

There's trouble on my gum line, I can feel it in my bones
I had a premonition that I would have to take out a loan
I knew the tooth had a cavity, but I didn't think It'd pop
Holy cow it's throbbing and I think I'm gonna drop

Everything exploded, and the blood began to spill
The dentist just smiled and fired up his drill
Pay a little money now, we'll set up an easy payment plan
You be cool for thirty minutes, and It'll cost about a grand
Yeah just about a grand.

I'm sorry it went down like this, but someone had to lose
It's the nature of the business, it's the abscess blues.
the abscess blues.

The drills and the xylocaine, the needles and gas
He pokes it and asks is this it? as I levitate my ass
The drilling wouldn't bother me if I didn't see the smoke
I hope he gives me a script for some really strong dope

Doesn't matter if you are John Wayne, Hercules or super man
When the drill hits that spot you're gonna scream just like a girl
Yeah, just like a girl.

I'm sorry it went down like this, but someone had to lose
It's the nature of tooth decay, it's the abscess blues.

Your face swells up and throbs just like a disco ball
Everything hurts no matter if it's big or small
You wonder how a little tooth can cause so much pain
You talk just like Clint Eastwood, there's no need to explain

You wonder how you ever let it get this bad
Everyone avoids the dentist, an old story that's so sad
Yeah, it's so sad.

I'm sorry it went down like this, but someone had to lose
It's the mortal fear of dentist, it's the abscess blues.

You see it in the headlines, you hear it every day
Brush your teeth twice a day, but it doesn't go away
It starts between your teeth or on your gum line
It moves along and tricks you into thinking that you feel fine
It hides out in cracks and works its evil late into the night
Until one day you wake up to terrible pain and fright
You ask any dentist, man, they'll say there's nothing you can do
There's nothing to do.

OWWWW!
