Treyvan's Poetry - 1. Sometimes It's Hard to Say Goodbye

It was a dream from which you didn't want to wake,

It was a step you didn't wish to take.

No matter how much you willed it away,

Nothing you said could have made him stay.

Now you want nothing at all,

Except wish that he would call.

His voice to carry you high,

Out of the pit and towards the sky.

You know the call will never come,

Because what was done cannot be undone.

Now you live with the regret,

Because of the course you set.

Now you are alone,

Which your heart cannot condone.

It doesn't understand, but it continues to beat,

Trying to handle defeat.

How you long for that knowing touch,

The memory wraps around you like a clutch.

The look in his eyes that used to entice,

Now gripes you like a vice.

Gone is that sense of hope,

And you're not sure how you will cope.

Right now you're not sure what you will do,

This sudden absence has left you without a clue.

The memories you won't ever forget,

Too bad the same can be said about regret.

Right now you really don't want to feel,

But eventually you are going to heal.

All you can do is sigh,

Because sometimes.

It's hard to say good bye.
