The Man by the River

   (1 review)

Under Don't Ask, Don't Tell, Benjamin and Alexander built a life behind the word roommate. Afghanistan cost them the rest of it. Now, every evening at dusk, Benjamin sits by a river with the only photograph of the day he let himself be seen.

He kept the photograph. The river keeps the rest.

How might war and separation influence two closeted gay men? Told from the perspective of Benjamin two young closeted soldiers meet in a gay bar. Alexander invites Benjamin over to his place and they eventually move into a two bedroom apartment and are just roommates to the outside world. They found a way to be themselves inside their place and acted straight outside. It worked for the current military environment.

Things begin to fall apart when Benjamin is sent into combat in Afghanistan. Read on to see how they change and a decision is made when Benjamin returns to the US.  You will learn how Benjamin decides to live his life. Does he find another partner or remain single?
