Baelra is a mage persecuted for her magic and as such is being hunted by what are known as 'witch hunters' in ancient Minonivna. In her flight from the witch hunters, she runs into a mythical forest known for a creature that is said to guard the territory -- an equine of beautiful strength and terror that it said to have magical abilities of her own.
