The Fey - Prologue. Prologue
I ran. My heavy waist length auburn hair rolled behind me in the wind as my bare feet caught dirt and brambles. Once pristine bare feet were now marred by dirt and scratches.
I had woven the dress I now wore from the finest material, delicate caterpillar silk. It was the only cloth that could brush my skin and not bring me harm. The end result was an exquisite fabric that pulled to the curve of my hip seductively, but kept my petite figure a hidden mystery.
I felt the push of desire and expectation at my back as the thin branches of short saplings, and tendrils of robust bushes, raked against my flesh.
Branches lashed my body, and I never paused. My beauty was scarred, but only for the moment. I knew, that soon, I would again be whole.
