This sequel is so important, important because it gives a hope for a second chance. We know how rare second chances are, so, when it happens, you should be grateful and accept it with open heart. The message of the story has been given by @Ronyx himself in last chapter - “Don’t be afraid to love”.

I strongly recommend reading prequel "Brittle as a Bird" first, only then you will have a complete picture, you will understand characters and consequences the past have made on their lives.

This is a story showing the best and worst of humanity. A reminder to live with honesty and honor. Don’t run from your truth. Be open and ready to accept your authentic life. With that, anything may be possible.

I’m not usually a fan of sequels - I think Jurassic Park (The Lost World, what were you thinking) and Speed (Speed 2, it’s simply appalling) have a large part to play in that, but I read this anyway because, well, it’s @Ronyx, if anyone deserves a chance it’s him.  I was not disappointed.

You should definitely read Brittle As A Bird first.  Even though this story does well on it’s own, you can’t properly appreciate the broader character development or the painful difficulty of the emotions unless you’ve already seen where they come from.  And yet, I feel bad for saying that, because this really is a great story anyway.

As seems typical of @Ronyx, you’re not exactly inundated with rainbows, unicorns, and explosions of glittery joy.  In fact, you often have to look really bloody hard to find any trace of their existence at all.  It’s too lazy to call it ‘gritty’, but there’s a harshness to the reality portrayed here which for me at least made it all the more enticing.  Oh, and, you also get the meet one of the cutest kids ever.

An amazing sequel to Brittle. Its amazing to see how the characters from the first story evolved, yet at the same time remained themselves at the core. The story had me crying and laughing. Yet another excellent one from San amazing author.
