Lonely At The Top 10. American Songbook

   (2 reviews)
Genres: Western, Romance

After getting dumped by Clem Linton, Nathan Cole spends his time breeding and training horses and sleeping with who ever he pulls in Austin nightclubs when drunk. After he wakes up next to Taylor, Nathan starts to realize quite how wrong his outlook on life is. But dealing with how low he has sunk and being willing to find the strength to pull himself into redemption are not quite as simple as galloping across a field.

Inspired by "Hope You Get Lonely Tonight" by Cole Swindell
If you're feelin' what I'm feelin' let's mix it up,
you got my number baby hit me up,
if you need a little late night pick me up,
I, hope you get lonely tonight,
we ain't gotta make up just kiss me,
we could straight up blame it on the whiskey,

Lonely on the Top is a powerful demonstration of the talent and skills of @Sasha Distan. It is very unique tale that few writers would attempt to tell.  Nate, the main character, is a broken gay cowboy who had raped his best friend and boyfriend Clem, but refused to acknowledge his violent act.  He is the product of a very abusive and hateful father. Nate is not a heroic main character.  Into Nate's life comes Taylor.  Nate would describe Taylor as "one of those sissy, girly Austin faggots" that disgust Nate. The other thing that makes this such a unique story is that it doesn't have a happy ever after ending.  Instead it is a hopefully ever after story. How does this all work?  It works perfect like a beautiful hand crafted Swiss timepiece.

This is a sequel of sorts to Ladies' Man which will give  you a better picture of Nate if you chose to read it first.
