Said my son tonight as we were frosting cupcakes. "You're the best cooker ever, Mom. I love helping you!" I think he was just excited cause I let him put the sprinkles on top.   So, a HUGE happy birthday to 'the man' today! You know I love you, Cutie! 6th floor in the parking structure

That's right, I'm blogging from the car boys and girls. Top floor of the Disneyland parking structure. We've been sitting here 18 minutes already and haven't moved an inch closer to home. Ugh! At least I have my Jamba Juice, some Good Charlotte to listen to, and my trusty cell phone.   So I finished my anthology submission last night. Underneath This Big Ol' Sky - Part 2 for all of you who read part 1 and are waiting to find out what happens next with the folks on Kingsman Bluff. Now's your c

teaching the youth of america...

Today's valuable lesson?   'Sack up, man!' means... grow some balls!   So, I FINALLY... started on my anthology entry AND heard the great news that Graeme is going to be reviewing them! That's fabulously exciting! Anyway, I hope I manage to get it done on time, I'm REALLY trying, and I'm off all day on Friday, not that I can concentrate much with the kids home on summer break, but we'll see. Also, I'm supposed to add a disclaimer to the story: Any sheep resembling vampiric Egyptian lege

I have a sunburn!

And... big shock, it sorta hurts. It was worth it though. My daughter graduated from sixth grade today looking SO grown up and beautiful in 'the dress'. She actually cried more than I did So there were 2 and a half graduating classes today (one was a combination class, so only half of them were sixth graders). They saved all their acheivment awards for the graduation ceremony so that the parents could see their kids receive them. My daughter... got them all! She earned the Gold award for aca

Turn the big three-oh-uh-oh.   So, a Father's Day dinner tomorrow, yay for sitting in traffic , then Monday, my daughter has her class trip to a water park out here all day, and then when she gets home, we have to continue the quest for the perfect graduation dress. Tuesday I have to be at work at 5 a.m. and then pick up the kids from school, and HOPEFULLY!!! we found the perfect dress on Monday night, cause otherwise it's happening Tuesday night. Then Wednesday is the big kinderga

indescribable...

I'm not gonna say much, cause honestly, I can't even think clearly right now to try and find the right words, and even if I could, I don't think there are any.   What I will say is, I'm so, SO glad that you are who you are today, and that I have the opportunity to know and love you. For that, I am thankful, and so lucky.   Love ya, Viv   PS. I knew I loved him before, because of you, but I love Sam!

name this blog?

Too many titles to choose from. Since when does that happen? I mean, usually, I'm sitting here trying to think of something clever and catchy... So, this time the choices were...   Zoey's home!   FBTE is out... finally   Joey made me do it!   Thank golly for cell phones!   Maybe you can help me decide on the best one...   So, to elaborate on each possibility....   Zoey is, in fact, home! She is the little kitten we adopted and she's fantastic! There is a little something wron

we're having a baby!

In 1 to 10 days...   We decided to adopt a kitten from the pound for the low, low price of $112 and she is SO pretty! Rambunctious little girl, grey and black tabby. When I went to pay for her, the woman at the window says, "She'll be ready in 1 to 10 days, 10 being the longest." Thanks for the clarification there ma'am. So, now, we are in the process of naming her... and much to my daughter's dismay, she won't be called Princess, Chloe, Sammy, Ginger, Rosie, or any of the other million names

just... argh~!

Why do I have to feel like I have to defend myself all the time? I mean if I want to be who I am, and have the friends I want to have, and read what I want to read, and write the stories I want to write, why the f**K should you care? And, more importantly, why do I have to feel like I have to justify my choices about those things?   "Why is every story you write a 'gay story'?"   "They aren't 'gay stories'," I say. "They are stories that happen in the lives of people, some of whom happen to

what are you?

I was thinking yesterday on my drive home from work, where they had asked me to cover someone's shift on my day off who was apparently supposed to get suspended, and then didn't, and then when I walked in they said, "Oh shit! I forgot to call you to say nevermind..." and I was wondering if being optimistic is the same thing as having faith?   To me, being optimistic means you hope for the best, hope that things will work out well, but having faith... well that's a different matter altogether.

they came, he cheered, guess what?

... I'm still short   So I was at work on Saturday and may have witnessed one of life's oddities... This woman, at least 50, in way too short shorts, flip flops, and fake blond hair is complaining that her husband bought her some tulips from the store and that they aren't fresh. Apparently in her quest for the ultimate tulip she complained to someone in the department who allegedly told her that if she wants fresh tulips she'll probably have to go to Holland. Now, while I could see one of the

whatever...

I usually try and avoid that retort, but at this point, I'm speechless. Quick rant about work and then we'll move on kay? So at work we're having some promotion for the month of May where if you spend $25 on QUALIFYING PRODUCTS (see list that is rather specific) you'll earn two free movie tickets to the upcoming Pirates of the Carribean III. Sounds simple enough right? In fact, what a deal really, cause, out here at least, it's $10 a ticket, so this way you get the tickets AND all the products y

okay so tell me what you think....

So I was talking to someone the other day, I think it was Will, (hi Will! we should talk again soon, cause it was fun! ) and I mentioned something that I have wondered for a while. Anyway, when I was talking to Steve last night, and we were talking about how f**kING AMAZING Luc is, and how The Shower ( http://luc.gayauthors.org/daydreams/theshower.php ) was SO FANTASTIC, just perfect really, and I mentioned it to Steve and that made him wonder too, so now we wanna know dammit!   What do you

I got a 44...

... so did Davey even with half of our answers being different... Rich got a 36 Pretty accurate if you ask me...   Below is Dr. Phil's test. (Dr. Phil scored 55; he did this test on Oprah - she got a 38.) Some folks pay a lot of money to find this stuff out!   Don't be overly sensitive! The following is pretty accurate and it only takes 2 minutes.   Answers are for who you are now --- not who you were in the past. Have pen or pencil and paper.   This is a real test given by the
