True As It Can Be Chapter 17 is Now Live- Author Notes
Chapter 17 is now live, Here are some notes:
-Yes, Brad and Beau needed a very good scene of exploring each other's bodies, then a bit of exploring pleasure
-I know there are gay/bi guys, and probably a few ladies on here, who know what I am describing through Brad's actions of breathing hot air down Beau's spine. It's not something seen or written about often, but it's a kind of sexual foreplay and stimulation itself. Not sure if there's a proper name for it, yet.
-Brad's desires and interests are mirrors of Gary Gaston's and a general societal mood. While control is what society and humans desire to various extents and purposes. I had the idea of designing a character, who has moved beyond current social culture. Freedom is not the antithesis of control, the term and concept is too polluted to be of any use. Instead Brad's character seeks natural interdependence of life, not independence. Looking at the generation around us right now, I created this character concept.
-Warren is learning to paint with Paki. I wanted to allow Warren to grow through an appreciation of art and beauty with Paki's assistance. It balances his character more and shows growth.
-Francis learning Kendo from Min is really interesting concept. If I had to bet money, I'd argue that Daredevil probably learned Kendo with his cane before he learned to fight crime and beat up bad guys as a blind superhero.
-One Japanese Cultural reference:
Kendo- "Sword path"/"The Way of the Sword", is a type of Japanese martial arts. The book I referenced, Book of Five Rings by Miyamoto Musashi is one of the most important books for the study of swordsmanship, along with tactical thinking for business, philosophy, psychology, and politics.
-Morris revealed that Gary Gaston is spreading rumors about Keller Hall, like a secret underground sex dungeon. Keep that in mind for the next 3 chapters.
-The conversation between Morris, Brad, and Beau referenced a quote from 50 Cents and Robert Greene's 50th Law of Power, which they co-authored. It's an interesting concept about identifying reality and not allowing it to ruin you.
Quote“Reality has its own power—you can turn your back on it, but it will find you in the end, and your inability to cope with it will be your ruin.”
That is what Gary Gaston was to Brad Brooks, a reality that he is now coming to terms to that nearly destroyed him.
