2023 is about to terminate and we will move into 2024.   Happy New Year to everyone!

From the Latin terminatus (past participle of terminare), to the verb terminus (to set boundaries, limit) to the late Middle English terminate. 

In employment there are three types of termination.  1) Voluntary - you decide to leave your position for your own reasons;  2) involuntary - your employer removes you from your position, in other words you're fired; and 3) mutual - you and your employer agree to end your employment.
