Ah, a word I know well and am very familiar with.   It comes from the Latin word frustrare (disappoint) and frustratio (a deception).  The word frustration came into use in English in the mid 16th century.

Saints fans' frustrations are exacerbated by their dominate performance in their first two wins. Then all their old geezers got injured, and the team is dead as a hammer.

This has nothing what so ever to do with our, Word of the Day. However with the commenters, being pretty sparse, I thought you all might like one of my, Did You knows, as a filler!

Webster’s Dictionary accidentally had a word that didn’t exist in it for five years – “Dord.”

Yes I know it's  :off: but these are called "ghost words" which is appropriate for this time of the year. Ghost words are words like "dord" that do not exist and should not be in a dictionary. An entertaining video by Robwords on ghost words is at:
