I was astonished to find a new kind of Afro-Americans (I know this term is no longer in use!), far from the Black Power and the African-American Civil Rights Movements : the Black conservatives. They tend to be culturally conservative and put a priority on maintaining strong ties to black cultural and family traditions. Black conservatives favor traditional nuclear family arrangements and oppose gay marriage.
