D Writes Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 Please help and show your support for the victims of the Earthquake that devasted an entire province in China and till now has killed more than 50, 000 people and injured about 200,000. (R) before your MSN nickname. 10 cents from MSN, and 10 cents from Toyota would be donated to the earthquake victims. Details given in Chinese : http://info.msn.com.cn/caihong/rainbow.html Please show your support, and tell this to your friends. It doesn't cost you anything as you just have to add only a simple code before your nickname. Thank you!!! D EDIT: Mods, if you feel this is inappropriate in this part of the forum, please feel free to move it, Thanks
tator_tot2010 Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Argh. I would love to do this, but I'm stuck on Windows 2000, on which, of course, you can't get Windows Live Messenger.... I found that out last year, I was annoyed by it.
GaryK Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 I've asked one of my contacts at MSFT to confirm this and provide a link in English. I'll post again as soon as I've heard from him.
GaryK Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Sadly, here's what my friend/contact at MSFT told me: Yes, it's true -- but the details are: * only applies to people in China (locale set to China) * amount is 0.10 RMB, not $0.10 -- so it's more like a penny * total cost is shared between MSFT and Toyota

GaryK Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Well that's very unfortunate Could still add up if all the internet users in China did it though!! I asked Joshua if he could arrange something like this for other countries. He's too busy preparing for the release of several new enterprise products plus IE8 to take it on himself. Normally he's quite the activist and runs a very interesting, MSFT-sanctioned blog.
