BESTSELLING AUTHOR CHRISTOPHER RICE

TO APPEAR AT NYC's SNAPPLE THEATER CENTER

Christopher Rice, the celebrated author of four New York Times bestselling thriller novels, will discuss his career and body of work in an exclusive appearance at Perfect Crime, NYC's long-running mystery play, on Friday, May 29, 2009. He will also read an excerpt from his latest novel, Blind Fall, and participate in an audience Q&A. The discussion, which begins at 6:30PM at The Snapple Theater Center, is open to anyone holding a ticket for that evening's performance of Perfect Crime.

Rice, known for his tormented characters and dark psychological themes, burst onto the scene in 2000 with his acclaimed debut novel A Density of Souls which chronicled the secret lives of four high school friends. A year later he released The Snow Garden, about a college campus mired in lies. The Snow Garden was followed up with Light Before Day, a frightening look at a string of murders with a disturbing connection, and his most recent novel, Blind Fall, centers on a tale of murder and lies in the United States Marine Corp.

Like the works of Christopher Rice, Perfect Crime blends psychological drama with mystery and a healthy dose of comedy to reach its final, devastating conclusion. The plot concerns Margaret Thorne Brent (Catherine Russell), an accomplished Connecticut psychiatrist and potential cold-blooded killer. When her wealthy husband (Robert Emmet Lunney) turns up dead, she gets caught in the middle of a terrifying game of cat and mouse with a deranged patient (Michael Brian Dunn) and the handsome but duplicitous investigator (Richard Shoberg) assigned to the case. Written by Warren Manzi and directed by Jeffrey Hyatt, Perfect Crime is the longest-running play in the history of New York theater.

Tickets for the performance and discussion, priced $41-$51, are available by calling the box office at (212) 921-7862 or Ticketmaster.com at (212) 307-4100. Specially-priced $26 student tickets are also available by calling the Snapple Theater Center box office.

The Snapple Theater Center is located at 1627 Broadway (at 50th Street) New York, NY 10019. For more information on Perfect Crime visit http://www.perfect-crime.com

I personally would love to attend as I'm a fan of Christopher Rice, but sadly I won't be able to make it to NYC. If anyone from here does go though, I'd love to hear details!
