Me too. He is the reason I got on this site. I still can't believe it.

This is a sad day.  As @Sherye Story Reader says, he will be missed. He is such a personality and will always be. My condolences to his friends and family and to @Myr and all those he touched here.

I'm stunned. We've lost a true icon and he will be missed. 

Comsie’s stories helped get me through my teenage years. I’ll never forget that.

I've been losing my composure on and off all night trying to post announcements and reach out to close friends. I found Comsie in late 97 back when we were all trying to figure out this new box in our house that let us find all kinds of cool stuff all around the world as long as no one needed to use the phone  I forget exactly where I found him, Nifty archive or the little page he had created on one of those little "Build your own web page" sites that were popping up all over the place at the time. I read the couple of chapters of Gone From Daylight that he had written and emailed him to let him know that I loved it and couldn't wait to see where it was going. 28 years later I would still be waiting and tonight can't believe I now know where it ends 😪

Rest in Peace "Comet" - When I come to join you, I'm going to bug you for that ending! Count on it *HUGZ*

What shocking news. Comsie was a legend I found sweet to deal with. Our interactions were few, but you'd have to be a fool not to see the profound impact he had on online writing. His readers were absolutely devoted to him, and one thing I am sure of... he was way too young to leave us. Still, he left one hell of a mark all the same. RIP, Comsie, and my condolences to those who were close to him.

I knew he wasn't in the best of health, but I'd assumed he was busy recovering, working on physical therapy, etc. I just...I can't believe he's gone.  😢

The world looks a little less bright without you, Comsie. Rest in peace, my friend.

It's shocking he died so young, and at the height of his powers as a writer too. A sad day indeed 

Comsie’s helped me through some tough times, with his stories and the interactions I had with him. He was one of the best friends anyone could ever ask for. He’d always listen and offer advice, or try to bring a little joy to anyone willing to accept it. One of the friendliest guys I’ve ever met.

Wherever you are, Comsie, I hope you’re having as much fun and joy as you brought to us. I’ll miss you, my friend. 😢

He was someone I could (and did) reach out to when I needed writing advice, and always a true gentleman.  He will be missed. 

I'm shocked. He will be missed.

The loss of this wonderful person saddens me. I discovered Comicality before coming to GA. His witty, creative, and well-written stories gave me a wealth of reading material by the time I started being active in GA. What I found here was even more impressive. The essays written by Comicality showed a person willing to share concepts, insights, and skills with others to help them become better writers/editors/betas.  Comicality has left us all a great legacy.

What sad news. Comicality was definitely a cornerstone of this community and a gracious contributor who was keen to share the benefit of his extensive experience. His writing blending drama and humour in a way that appeared effortless but no doubt took considerable thought; he also had a gift for getting inside the heads of his teenage characters, with all their silly ideas and relatable insecurities. It made his stories a true pleasure to read. 

It saddens me to think that we will never see a new story or a resolution to some of the stories that he left unfinished, but he has left a rich legacy of work that GA will preserve for posterity to entertain and inspire future readers and aspiring authors, which I’m sure is what he would have wanted.

Very sad news. I was very shocked when Valkyrie told me  Just think of all the members and readers he brought this site with his stories and all things he shared in blogs etc.
 

My condolances to his friends and family. You will be missed Comsie 

He was my first discovery on GA and will never be dethroned as the best. I hate it when I’m right. It always costs something. Just last night I was thinking about him and realized we haven’t heard from him in a while. Then this morning I see this post. The impact he made on me in the briefest of interactions was like a meteor. World changing. I will miss him deeply. I am shocked & yet not. He got his Sunrise. Someone please pick up his torch and finish GFD. How I hope he passed on his vision with that story. RIP my friend.

I've been sitting here in shock and unable to express the great loss that I feel.  Comsie and I both started writing at about the same time,, although I had to take lengthy breaks due to family issues and my health.  We were both star ted by sharing our stories on Nifty back then, and we even moved to GA at about the same time, but I never expected him to go before me.   All I can offer at this time is my heart felt condolences to his family and friends.  You will be greatly missed, my friend, and I know you'll continue sharing your wonderful stories in the great beyond.  

I have no words.  Things around here just won't be the same without him.
