Man, Kody always resonates with me so much, harkening back to my own early college days. I had a crush like that too —unavailable and uninterested, but it was a small enough school so I would run into him everywhere. It didn’t help that we traveled in overlapping social circles. So it went on like that for the majority of my college days. Thinking back now, maybe that’s part of the reason this story has always stayed with me haha. At any rate, loving the new interactions with Nick! I’m curious to see how their living situation affects the plot moving forward. Some key events will have to altered (I think), since they’re roommates now. Either way—excited to see what happens!

This chapter feels pretty true to the original canon, with little deviation. But there is a lot more context and nuance, particularly with Jake’s introspection and inner thoughts — all positives to me! I like that it feels little a little slower than the original, giving the characters more time to breath and get fleshed out. I also feel like we got more insight into Becca this time around, more subtlies and such. Also hoping to get to see more of “Slug” this time around — I’ve always liked his character too. As a side note, as someone who doesn’t really drink (not for any addiction or trauma related reason—I just don’t like it), I can understand Jake’s discomfort some what. In modern society, it’s treated as such a taboo to not drink and like it’s something you have to justify. While Jake has a valid reason, it calls into question the larger issue in society that simply not liking alcohol is not seen as a “valid” enough reason. It’s just wild to me that no other food or drink requires a justification in this same way. Anyways—loving the changes. Keep up the great stuff and all that. Looking forward to more 👍

Oh lots of fun changes here from the original version! I like that this set-up will give Nick and Kody more time to interact with one another. I always liked Nick as character and felt he was under utilized! Very excited to see how this changes the dynamic moving forward! Also, very fun to see how Kody actually got the job (as opposed to him just starting with it). Very on brand for Max’s character!

Yessssss, we’ve finally made it to Breaking Masks! I’ve been a Jake fan since the first generation of these stories, so you can imagine my excitement here. And this is new content too! I’ve read the original one enough times to know that this is some new stuff! IIRC the original just opens up with him moving into the dorm more-or-less. But I like this change—the preamble and the lead up gives some great depth and introspection as to where Jake’s head is at right now, which was previously a little understated. Love it. Also — “This isn't some meet-cute romcom.“ Haha, okay sure 👌 Lastly, you say 34 chapters?? And one of the longest you’ve written?? I think the original was only 20 chapters and honestly, rather short comparatively. Does this mean we’re got a bunch more new content in store?? 😀 Anyways, this is awesome. You’re great—don’t ever change.

As someone who has recently made the drive from Ocean City to the DC metro area, this is no short drive haha. I guess with Chris’s suggestion he gets to avoid the worst of the Beltway traffic, but still. I never really thought about it the first time I read this, but Killian does a lot of driving, back and forth across Maryland, in this one.

Part of me wishes I could participate in the fan speculation, but that would be dishonest of me. Still though, it is fun living vicariously through people’s comments and then reconciling the theories with my own memories. That said though, I’m not sure if it’s my own shoddy memory or if revisions happened here, but I didn’t realize how long it took for Jake’s story to get going haha. It could very well be my poor recall though, since I definitely did remember the DC trip. Anyways, there’s at least one scene that’s burned into memory, that I imagine must be coming up soon Things are heating up!

I’ll probably disappoint in that regard haha. It became apparent to me first during Reap the Whirlwind and then moreso during All Lost Things that I don’t remember a lot of specific details and play-by-plays. It’s honestly it’s more vibe based, with fragmented memories peppered in here and there. But then my memory gets revived as the story goes on. Like halfway through Whirlwind, I suddenly remembered who the killer was and some major ending events—some of which I hoped I had been misremembering. You can probably guess what I mean here But then with All Things Lost, I was confused for a while because I was like “where is the Amalie story?? Did I misremember that being here? Is that in the next one??” But then I read one of your comments on one of the chapters, basically explaining that while it was originally one thing, Amalie’s story had since been pulled out into its own novella. But the fact that I couldn’t rightly say (until reading that comment) demonstrates how hazy my memories are here. We’ll have to see how it plays out for Truths of Yesterday. But either way, whether I recall things or not, it’ll be an enjoyable ride I’m sure

Aw yes, I’ve been waiting for this one. It’s been a good long while since I’ve read Truth of Yesterday (well over a decade), but I do remember being entirely enthralled with it. Plus, it focuses on my personal favorite character Can’t wait to walk down this road again and re-experience it all!

It's just disgusting what this world is coming to. But at the same time it's so very sad, pathetic even.

Haha, well I doubt I'll be posting anytime in the near future. I kind of want to finish my novel first before I post it. I have a tendency to go back and alter things. XD

Hey guys, I'm another newcomer here, just thought I'd drop by here and make myself known. I just signed up here a few days ago, but I've actually been reading stories on GA for a while, just never bothering to sign up. But alas, I eventually decided I should make an account here. Reasons for this include: hopes of bettering my own writing abilities, intents of posting my own stories here one day soon, and immersing myself in a sort of gay community. So yeah, hopefully I'll make some friends here and posta few stories. From what I hear, GA is pretty friendly to new people. Hope that's true =].
