Columbia is not America. Different country different mores. We do not have to like it, but, it is their culture and not ours. It seems Miguel is in full time management of his actions and thoughts, so that he can stay in the graces of those count, where he is. That is not something I would wish on anyone.

You meet someone like Miguel, and it doesn't matter the age of him or you, the die is cast, and the ride is on. No matter where it goes or how it ends, it remains unforgettable.

Perhaps it just means that Chapter 3 is soon to be here.

It most definitely does, went to a friends holiday party years ago, he was recreating an Italian Duke's recipe from the 14th or 15th century. There are times when something just tastes so good, that even with types of meat, that I do not eat, it is to good to refuse. Lots of aged meats in it.

Hunter has just dropped down into a new country, with a different language, very different food, to Hunter's taste, a new school, and only now is he close to getting a lay of the land, no pun intended. He probably has not had a body guard before, this is just all new and to some extent, both exciting and sad. Having to adjust, fast, and stay on your feet, with meeting new people, new classes, home, can be daunting, been there and done it. Hunter has obviously done it enough that it hasn't thrown him off his stride, but has slowed him down a bit. Miguel and Yeison are new, different, a source of curiosity, hope, and wanting to make a good impression, Hunter is doing his best to just be him, something that Miguel may have never known.

Having Poodles due to allergies, that is not something that can be said about them. They have many good aspects and are very smart, but can be extremely demanding, amongst other characteristics.

When I was a total vegetarian for a few years, people just accepted it, and when they couldn't figure out what to serve, was glad to accept macaroni and cheese as a midpoint, in order to have dinner with them.

I like the beginning, and look forward to much more. Just who is Hunter and how much of that is or was a product of where he has lived, is yet to be seen. Sometimes living in a totally new environment can change one a lot.

I prefer to eat vegetarian, but the people I have spent the most time with were definite carnivores. I can limit my intake but food is hard to totally change from one to the other.

Having lived for awhile in the Tenderloin in San Francisco, it doesn't take much to be aware of what is around you and just what someone, a stranger, is doing talking to you, a stranger yourself. Simple awareness will get one far, trust those who have proved trustworthy, and have a safe place to stay, everything else will then tend to be more than okay.

First and foremost, thank you, LittleBuddhatw. This has been a wonderful read, the last chapter, as Nick and Jack catch up and open up as to where they are, as Nick goes through all the changes and growth he has found, over the year. The inner dialogue of what went down and what he is now prepared for, in terms of what is was brilliant, and far better than mine at that age. The characters are wonderful, the situations believable, Mr. Johnson as floor head was an interesting one, but not quite there. Nothing is perfect in this world, other than the world and everything in it as it is, your story comes close. Again, Thank You.

Compatibility is foremost, the body can always be adjusted or worked with.

Maybe more like a transition, like from a caterpillar to a butterfly, only Nick and Jack will live much longer.

I like your thinking, but one has to think of the every day expenses. Dr. Kincaid is the only one bearing them, the house was bought on a two person income. Was there enough of a life insurance policy to pay off the mortgage debt? Would she really work double shifts if money was not a concern? Nick as zero understanding of how the money comes in or goes out. My thinking is that Mrs. Kincaid has done everything she can so that Nick has no real need to think of such things or even know of the. It is probably more a case of shielding him, to give him the space to grow up, learn the lessons he needs with no amount of worry about the home fires, as it were, and give him the space he needs to heal and grow as he should.

The crisis is over, the time for easy and smoothing out had arrived, ease and preparing to go forward, into what and just exactly what it might be are yet to be known. For now, it is a time to luxuriate in the moment and each other, who could ask for anything else.

Just what the doctor ordered, a total break to be unburdened from what had been. It is sweet, thoughtful, fun, and very endearing. There is nothing like the chance to be free and just be, at any age.

Really liked Nick's first driving lesson. For mine, at 16 and 4'5", started by getting into a Chevy Impala, which was not the right move. Between trying to see over the hood and still have my feet on the pedals, it was a very interesting experience, especially for the teacher. Next class wound up in Chevy Nova. Nick did great and probably deserves a prize by comparison. That Jack, Nick and Tommy have found a balance, that allows all that is needed for each of them, is beautifully written. The way it just gradually evolved from Tommy's sense of boundaries, space, what ever, was really well done.

Going camping, out in the wild, with the only electronics being cellphones. Having a lake or a mostly calm river nearby for swimming. Maybe a cabin, but out in the open would work too.

This is not the summer vacation Nick envisioned with Jack, but it is the one he is having. I really don't know if Jack is just reacting to no pressures or there is actually something wrong. This is definitely different than his earlier episodes. Sometimes, after a long and difficult time, in this case parents and being who he is, have reached a point where the line of communication is finally cut. Jack now has to start almost all over. He is exempt from his parents reach and can be himself, and all the hostility that could never be voiced, is now aimed at himself. Figuring out what to do, how your life has changed, and being able to take a breath, can be exhilarating or crushing. I can think of too many times, when having to think fast, give the right answers, so I could move on, was easy, until it was over, I was on my way, and then things hit.

Dr. K. had a house to support, a job, which in the best of conditions is stressful, and a son. She is already spread fairly thin. When her husband died, was the mortgage all paid for? Where there bills that took two incomes? We just don't know her situation, because she hasn't shared it with Nick, which is exactly how it should be. After my mom died, I was 20, I took over the finances and some other areas, because dad had to work and I was in college with more time on my hands, as it were. It seems to me Nick's mom is protecting him as much as possible while keeping the home fires warm and safe. Noi mention of drinking, spending, shopping, just getting through things.

That's how the Romans did it, preferably in a hot steaming bath. Have a different view of Jack. This was not some break or stressed out effect, it was rather living for the first time since he was 2 or 3 without being in a pressure cooker. All the forces that had kept him more or less penned in were gone, he was finally free to move, and what came out was all that was dreadful. I don't know if after a few days he'll be ready to come back, but I think he has gone as far as he can in this direction, and while a lot of it is uphill, from here on, I believe Jack is more than willing to climb it, if Nick is by his side.

Jack needs to hear a very basic truth. If you hold your hand open, butterfly's, hamsters, maybe a bird, will stay there calmly. The moment one goes to close it, they get nervous, and try to run away, or bite to get away. It works just as well with people. They either want to be with you, which means in part, allowing you to be you and them to be them. Holding on too hard, as if for dear life, can kill whatever one has. Jack needs to wake up to what he has and that it is mutual, with no other person or body on the horizon of any interest to Nick.
