Thanks! Poor Richard is probably going through a lot and has a lot to process. I do think his reaction is reasonable in the heat of the moment. Richard and Patrick have a long relationship as brothers that they'll need to untangle. As you might have noticed -- as was a goal for this Part One -- we now have a one-on-one interaction between each of the four major characters in each chapter: Richard, Matt, Patrick, and Justin. Thanks, Modified Cub! Glad you gave it a shot. I can tell you in advance that this is as "bi" as the story's going to get. My goal was as much realism as you could reasonably get in this kind of story, and I felt a bi MFM moment was the easiest entry point for Richard's character in particular.

Thanks for the note! So glad you said that. Right, the title was intentionally a double-entendre to set up the twist. In this case, "Dad's Helping Hand" referring to the hand that's helping Dad... And later on in the story, well, we might just see that reversed. 🤫
