It is amazing. The first thing I thought, finishing this chapter for the second time, was "fuck Will". Apparently I am very consistent 😁 Oh please, if you'd gone to high school with Will Schluter, you know you'd have wound up punching him in his pretty face sooner or later 😄

The first time they got together, it almost destroyed all of their relationships. I think that's a pretty good way of saying "don't sleep with him." I think it's unreasonable to think a guy has to tell his step-father or boyfriend (or ex-boyfriend) not to sleep together. That's something they should just know, and get. As I recall (having just reread Paternity, which is where I think it was) it was Wade who broke things off with Brad because sex with Brad was so good..... But then Matt found out how to replicate "Brad sex" by being dominate. In theory, with Matt back having sex with Wade, Wade should not have needed Brad.

Brad and Wade is creepy. I thought it was less creepy 10 years ago. Mostly because Wade is his dead partner's son's partner (or was, current status doesn't count, the relationship was there, that should be enough for it to be taboo). That Brad, a successful, respected business man like him can't control himself? Can't find an equal partner, he needs a recent college grad to turn his crank? Someone who lives in the protection of his house? I wasn't confused. That was hyperbole and my own dramatic device for emphasis. Everything I said about Will stands. Will is a hypocritical little douchebag. I bet his cologne is Eau d'Massengill. When I say I am confused why Brad and Wade having sex is a big deal, I don't mean to me, I still find it creepy. I don't understand why it is a big deal to Will, why Brad and Wade feel guilty about it and why it is anyone's business. Will is a shit ass fucking hypocritical spoiled self indulgent self absorbed self righteous douchebag. Not that I have strong feelings on the matter. The responsible thing Will to have done is go get an adult to deal with the matter, one of his two grandfathers. The hypocrisy is entirely Will's. He has zero standing to dictate standards to anyone else.

I am sure young Mark was a hottie.....

So it seems like Matt has FINALLY gotten that's it over...... for now. And he slept with his boyfriend's stepfather. I don't like Matt much.... or ANY of the Hayes boys except the one who fixed Gathan's car, BUT in the CAP world Matt is the middle of the pack in the awful world and not even top three in the Hayes hierarchy. Maybe you skipped the final chapters of Paternity, after initially being uninterested, Matt came around.

It isn't a case of being smart or not smart. It is about being from two completely different universes, in terms of experience and orientation. Being unequally yoked is a very hard thing to overcome.

I think Matt is actually seeing light at the end of the tunnel. It's either a train or daylight..... Hey we are only 4 chapters in.... Lines of work where MBAs and JDs together, sports & talent agents; business affairs for movie studios, institutional money managers, trust companies, family foundations and NGOs, to name a few. Before Wade were to go out on his own, he'd probably join a white shoe law firm with a strong WDC presence like Kirkland Ellis, Sullivan Cromwell or Jones Day. Pretty sure that was Mr. Miyagi who said that.....

Not many active managers can beat the indexes over any 10 year period.

It is good you listened to your readers, but by the same token, stay true to yourself and your vision for your story. The "old ways" were important in Kentucky and throughout Appalachia. I suspect Social Media and the Internet has really changed the youth of Kentucky, but I am sure plenty of old folks remember granny witches with their folk medicine and second sight. Thanks Billy for a 4 year labor of love.

It remains to be seen if the two men from Boone, who were outside, have been killed, but I don't think two hillbilly yokels could take down former Rangers and SEALs, especially since they were onto the yokels since the funeral, but I guess we'll see. Never a dull moment in a Billy Martin tale 😁

Life definitely gets in the way. I have a story I started about 10 years ago and I just can't bring myself to write the last couple of chapters because I've fallen in love with my characters. It seems if I finish the story, then I lose them somehow. The two guys in the old Ford truck I am sure are the killers and kidnappers. I don't know if they are bootleggers or friends of the guy JT's testified against, but given the Judge's reaction, I'll guess the latter.

We never did find out what Timmy's issues were in the early chapters of this book, did we? Did he have feelings for Andy? For Debbie? Will we get a full on Joey - Andy hot steamy time before this is all over? 😲

Funny, I don't remember the "Michael" incident specifically. I do remember a couple of plagiarism scandals on GA, just not Michael. But it remind me how I miss the chat feature on GA. It was fun and I did get to know people. And if you were bright, you knew half the people on AOL were lying about stuff. The first thing a guy would ask after ASL was 'how big is your dick' and you just knew not every guy out there had a 7 1/2 inch dick. My friends and I used to joke about "AOL inches". But I digress. Lots of balls in the air right now. I remember bits and pieces of how everything turns out, but not the details. It is fun this second time through.

I didn't hear that "f" word used a lot and certainly not from the church kids I hung around with. Well damn I'm smart... I said part of the same stuff in my review in the previous chapter. I don't think Fleming was planting evidence, and as I said, there were too many other LEO onsite for him to alter the scene. Besides being lazy and a douche bag, we don't know why he has a stick up his ass.

Detectives don't tell state prosecutors how to do their job. A detective who did so would be missing a large chunk of his ass pretty quick. I am sure Letcher County doesn't have the most sophisticated crime scene investigators so in a double homicide they'd request help from the state crime scene investigators. It would be pretty easy to establish JT was a victim in this crime, not the instigator. More twists than two snakes makin' love.....

It is kind of weird because I just finished with Running Deer or Thunder Cloud or whatever his name was in the baseball story, and I didn't remember JT and Cody from this story, because it had been so long between stories for me, but it is weird seeing Cody and JT at the beginning of things in this story. Fun times in KY, what can I say.

I am guessing that the man JT's father turned state's evidence against didn't take kindly to it. It is awful and grisly and now JT is going to need therapy as well, but in the long term, his life would be better. Joey has PTSD obviously and he is going to need some professional help to work out his intimacy issues. Well done Billy. You are certainly juggling lots of balls here.

That isn't the issue here. Coming out to a supportive parent or to a peer isn't what we are talking about. Andy has expressed more than once that he is not interested in being out at school and yet he engages in behavior that would absolutely out him and we are led to believe he just can't control himself. Andy didn't come out to Roger because he trusted his friend. He actually DID NOT come out to his friend. He outed himself and Joey through indiscretion. Andy didn't come out to Nurse Nancy because he trusted her because he knew of her story. He outed himself and Joey through indiscretion. So you would think after being caught three times being indiscrete that a bight guy like Andy would learn and be more cautious.

This topic triggered a memory in me. In the nascent days of the WWW and me exploring the more hidden side of my life as a youth coming to terms with my sexual orientation, I discovered a site called "The Fort". It wasn't very sophisticated, but it did have stories in it and forums to discuss just about anything and links for gay youth resources. Does anyone know of this site? Remember it? Know what happened to it? I remember a lot of the stories seemed science fiction-y, which when mixed with gay characters didn't appeal so I sort of stopped going there as I found other sites like Nifty, GA, IOMfAtS and AwesomeDude.
