Life definitely gets in the way. I have a story I started about 10 years ago and I just can't bring myself to write the last couple of chapters because I've fallen in love with my characters. It seems if I finish the story, then I lose them somehow. The two guys in the old Ford truck I am sure are the killers and kidnappers. I don't know if they are bootleggers or friends of the guy JT's testified against, but given the Judge's reaction, I'll guess the latter.

We never did find out what Timmy's issues were in the early chapters of this book, did we? Did he have feelings for Andy? For Debbie? Will we get a full on Joey - Andy hot steamy time before this is all over? 😲

Funny, I don't remember the "Michael" incident specifically. I do remember a couple of plagiarism scandals on GA, just not Michael. But it remind me how I miss the chat feature on GA. It was fun and I did get to know people. And if you were bright, you knew half the people on AOL were lying about stuff. The first thing a guy would ask after ASL was 'how big is your dick' and you just knew not every guy out there had a 7 1/2 inch dick. My friends and I used to joke about "AOL inches". But I digress. Lots of balls in the air right now. I remember bits and pieces of how everything turns out, but not the details. It is fun this second time through.

Chapter 23 Tender Loving Care
PrivateTim commented on Enoch's story chapter in Chapter 23 Tender Loving Care
“Yeah, and it's too bad the little faggot didn't die with them.” Sarah added as she walked up. In my years in middle school and high school I can't remember such vehemence and hate towards gay kids. I didn't hear that "f" word used a lot and certainly not from the church kids I hung around with. A lot of them might have disapproved of the gay lifestyle, but that never translated into hate towards them. Sad but interesting developments. -
Chapter 22 Plots and Tragedy
PrivateTim commented on Enoch's story chapter in Chapter 22 Plots and Tragedy
Wow, Pine Hills HS's gay population is just exploding.... Cody, Andy, Joey, the guys in drama, choir.... and of course the cross country team... I hope we get to see more of Cody. And with JT moving in... well things are gonna get interesting. -
Well damn I'm smart... I said part of the same stuff in my review in the previous chapter. I don't think Fleming was planting evidence, and as I said, there were too many other LEO onsite for him to alter the scene. Besides being lazy and a douche bag, we don't know why he has a stick up his ass.

Detectives don't tell state prosecutors how to do their job. A detective who did so would be missing a large chunk of his ass pretty quick. I am sure Letcher County doesn't have the most sophisticated crime scene investigators so in a double homicide they'd request help from the state crime scene investigators. It would be pretty easy to establish JT was a victim in this crime, not the instigator. More twists than two snakes makin' love.....

It is kind of weird because I just finished with Running Deer or Thunder Cloud or whatever his name was in the baseball story, and I didn't remember JT and Cody from this story, because it had been so long between stories for me, but it is weird seeing Cody and JT at the beginning of things in this story. Fun times in KY, what can I say.

Chapter 18 High Rock - Part 2
PrivateTim commented on Enoch's story chapter in Chapter 18 High Rock - Part 2
I am guessing that the man JT's father turned state's evidence against didn't take kindly to it. It is awful and grisly and now JT is going to need therapy as well, but in the long term, his life would be better. Joey has PTSD obviously and he is going to need some professional help to work out his intimacy issues. Well done Billy. You are certainly juggling lots of balls here. -
Chapter 17 High Rock - Part 1
PrivateTim commented on Enoch's story chapter in Chapter 17 High Rock - Part 1
Hey that was a great story.... sorry it had to end with Joey plunging to his death in the hills.... 🤣🤣 Say what? That wasn't the last chapter?? 🤣🤣 This camping trip is off to a rip roaring start, can't wait to see where it goes! -
Chapter 12 Answered Prayers
PrivateTim commented on Enoch's story chapter in Chapter 12 Answered Prayers
Super curious how you came up with "Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church" as the name of the church in BFE Kentuck. -
That isn't the issue here. Coming out to a supportive parent or to a peer isn't what we are talking about. Andy has expressed more than once that he is not interested in being out at school and yet he engages in behavior that would absolutely out him and we are led to believe he just can't control himself. Andy didn't come out to Roger because he trusted his friend. He actually DID NOT come out to his friend. He outed himself and Joey through indiscretion. Andy didn't come out to Nurse Nancy because he trusted her because he knew of her story. He outed himself and Joey through indiscretion. So you would think after being caught three times being indiscrete that a bight guy like Andy would learn and be more cautious.

This topic triggered a memory in me. In the nascent days of the WWW and me exploring the more hidden side of my life as a youth coming to terms with my sexual orientation, I discovered a site called "The Fort". It wasn't very sophisticated, but it did have stories in it and forums to discuss just about anything and links for gay youth resources. Does anyone know of this site? Remember it? Know what happened to it? I remember a lot of the stories seemed science fiction-y, which when mixed with gay characters didn't appeal so I sort of stopped going there as I found other sites like Nifty, GA, IOMfAtS and AwesomeDude.

I still think, regardless of what teen hormones were flowing, they would have been more discrete, especially after Nancy's admonishment.

The Bible doesn't say 'spare the rod, spoil the child', Proverbs 13:24 says, 'Those who spare the rod of discipline hate their children. Those who love their children care enough to discipline them.' The rod being talked about is the same rod as in Psalm 23:4 'Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me'. It is the rod of a shepherd. A shepherd never used his rod to beat his sheep, he used it to guide and direct the sheep. In the same way in the proverb, it is not to be used to beat a child, but to show the child which direction to go. The rod isn't an instrument of abuse, it is used to prod sheep (and children) not beat them. “Now, you boys need to be more careful, but you’ll have no problems from old Nancy here.” No shit Sherlock.

So this is my second time through obviously. In reading it this time, I think Andy moved way too fast. This wasn't the right time to start macking with Joey. Joey is in a very vulnerable, emotional state right now. Andy should merely have let Joey know he and his father had his back for now and waited for a better time to talk about the other stuff. It also puts the Judge in a tough position in trying to maintain his impartiality.

Chapter 5 Red Storm Rising
PrivateTim commented on Enoch's story chapter in Chapter 5 Red Storm Rising
12 years now, waiting for a new chapter of With Trust. I may never know what happened when Nelson met a painter. -
This chapter deserves so many more likes and eyeballs. Sammy looked at Brent and saw a smug satisfied look on his face. Brent might be an asshole, but I don't think he'd be happy Tony was stabbed. It is one thing to be a punk like Brent is, but the stark reality of a teammate and friend, even a former one, fighting for his life would be a wake-up slap in the face. Trauma has a way of focusing the mind.
-
Hunh? The story started in Jan 2015 and this chapter is July 2016, so hardly 4 years. Interesting drama, but how did no one notice Evan lurking about?
-
“Thanks. I’ve always been alone here at school. No friends. Only shunned or called names." Okay, I don't quite get this. Sure I get that at some point a Brent could have made school uncomfortable for Sammy, but Sammy is bright, personable, a good athlete and nice to people. His classmates would gravitate towards someone like him in the long term and it would be Brent who was isolated with a few like minded people.

The great thing about being a judge is you are the god of your courtroom. You can do pretty much what you want as long as you stay within the cannons of ethics, and legal principles. Okay, mild criticism here. The uncle voice sounds too stilted, like he's Iron Eyes Cody in a 1950's Western. But, and it was a huge but, he didn’t know if Mike was gay or not. What’s worse, he didn’t have a clue on how to find out. Should he just walk up to Mike and ask him? Or should he tell Mike he thought he might be gay Why do gay/questioning/curious boys stress on this stuff so much? Why a rush to put labels on yourself and others when you are 14 and 15 years old? How about this, just hang out with each other and get to know each other. You will figure out the rest naturally.

There was a time I would have thought a gay teen boy story set in rural Kentucky with an openly gay teen boy absurd. But then I met Noah Lee Miller, a totally cool kid who had a YouTube channel I followed. Noah lived in rural West Virginia in coal country and he came out in the 8th grade. Near as I remember, Noah never had any major problems. People were either supportive or indifferent. He took down his original Coming Out Video he did, which had hundreds of thousands of views, but he did another one, still worth watching. @noahleethatsme37 at YouTube and @noahleethatsme3 on Instagram. Really quite inspiring. It validates a lot of what happens in this story.

Damn he thought, fifteen miles in fifty minutes. That was a record for him Ha ha, yeah. The world record for 15 miles is 67 minutes, so Sammy is in the wrong sport. 😁 And when douche-bag threatened me, I'd have gone straight to Coach Parker and asked him if he wanted me off the team. I pretty much know the answer would be no and DB would be getting his ass chewed.
-
“But Sammy, everyone will find out about me if I do. I’ll lose every friend I have.” “No, no you won’t. You have me as your friend. And if anyone gives you any trouble, then they will have trouble with me, too.” Then Sammy’s voice softened again. “Tony, if you lose any friends over this, then they really weren’t your friend to start with.” “Okay, I’ll do it.” Tony agreed Well THAT was way too easy.... Dom Luka would have had Tony saying 'no' for at LEAST three chapters 🤣 Interesting though, Tony is gay and likes Sammy, Sammy is unsure but gets warm tinglies over Mike, and Mike we don't know (but suspect).

My two cents is small town cops are mostly bored to tears. A fight at the high school, with an ambulance dispatched would have had a couple of cars show up probably and one would have followed the ambulance to the hospital to get a statement, and one would have stayed behind to take witness statements. At least in my experience.... And yet To Kill a Mockingbird is one of the most banned books of all time. Despite its very strong anti-racism message, the racist language that is used to emphasize the very strong anti-racism message contributes to the banning.
