lol...Truck nuts made me lol... I am a girl and I kind of found it hilarious! It's like poking fun with nuts..no biggie!! I agree with most or all of what Andy said. For me, I get more emotional than practical when a kid is in the picture. And going by your age, I'm sure you have a very young kid. So right now is not the right time to 'experiment' since you have responsibilities to take care of too. You aren't even a single father. You are married and it does count whether you are completely into it or not. It's a commitment and will continue to be so till you legally get out of it. But from Andy's friend's experience, if you aren't truly happy, you should find the right time (which should be soon but not very soon) to break it with her. I assume no one in their right mind is ever 'okay' with their spouses having extra marital affairs. To be with someone because you feel guilty is not a good reason. I f you care for her, leave her when you feel she's in the mind set to accept the decision. She's young like you are, and she can find the will (and men) to move on. You can't have everything at once. You have to sometimes let somethings go to get others. Also, just because you haven't got the opportunity (for lack of a good word) to be with men, you can't decide your sexuality. Sometimes it's our minds that sway. You got to be sure before you take drastic steps and ruin your comfortable married life. Because you seek an opinion, I'm giving you one. Do not cheat on your wife. That's just not fair to her and to women in general and a man has got to be man enough to admit what he wants. You don't want the guilt of hurting someone. Your situation doesn't feel like an out and out gay situation. You are mostly bi. Fantasising and actually doing it are very different things. I hope you figure it out. Tara

Oh my Nathan, I thought I was supporting you. It was a very bad decision on my part to even get involved in this topic 'cause I'm not gay and topics like 'how to make a gay guy fall in love with you' are better fitted for me. But I still did and look where it got me. Like they say, do not rub your nose where it isn't needed. Sheesh! However, your post disappointed me (actually it made me sick).

Sorry. I did not see it in that light. But my telling Nathan to not consider himself a trainwreck like he put it was surely not a nonsesical talk according to me. What you have done in your post is just elaborated what Nathan has written and made the negatives of being gay even more prominent. It's true that I didn't have to face what majority of you had to. I was only trying to appease the negativity by trying to bring some semblance of thought. But I am also not aware of what Nathan has faced in his life exactly except for the fact that whenever I've talked to him, he's always come across as off to me. You telling him off like that on what he had to say felt wrong to me and I wrote what I wrote. I never wanted to argue on that with you. Never thought it would come to this. Umm..we don't get to decide if the talk is indeed daft like you put it. These are just opinions we are all giving so let's not comment if we find it stupid. No one forces us to comment in places we don't want to. And as far as others want to do it, it's their call. But I agree with you that experiences are subjective and arguments over them are best if avoided. I think we should all stop at this.

Like some of them have said here, straight guys do fall for other guys occasionally (mainly in stories) But the thing is, you can not choose that straight guy. You can't first fall for a straight guy and then expect him to like you back. It could happen naturally but the chances are so slim that they are near to non-existing. And baby, there are so many good gay guys, don't pine over a lost cause. <-- my opinion.

Lol..Maria nice post! I get home..dump my bag somewhere (I only find it next time I have to take it ). I then change my clothes quickly and get into my shorts (I only strictly wear shorts at home since I feel too hot at home) and a t-shirt too. Then I turn on my computer and go on fb/GA ..while I shout for some food, coffee/tea to my mother. I usually manage to get it in 10 mins after the order is placed. I munch on my food, load a video and don't get up till it's time for dinner. It only ever changes when my sister is around. I fight with her first and then get to the routine.

I liked that Derek's mom slapped him but I didn't like that she tried apologising. I liked that Derek was stranded alone on that path but I didn't like that Mrs. C got there to pick him up. I liked that Derek was physically hurting but I would've enjoyed it more if Mrs. C would actually run over him. (There was a point of time I liked Derek but the last chapter made me really hate him.) Can't wait for the next chapter.

I liked the way you began...a sad one again! But it ended too soon and I would have loved to read more! It felt like a short picture flash in front of the eyes but it disappeared too soon! So write more!

This is an even bigger cliffhanger, don't you think? I so wanted to read Derek and Charlie's encounter after he witnesses the scene. But that is on hold for a while I think Poor Charlie. I hope Travis sticks with him now that Derek has exposed him in front of the whole school. I think your story is set in an older generation, so I guess he'll need more support since people were a little more conservative back then. Please Hamen Cheese, don't take a break! <--- that'll be me!

OMG! OMG! OMG! I know the next chapter is coming out tomorrow..but I can't help but get restless till I actually read it! Derek finding out about Charlie, not even in the best of the circumstances, and you creating a tiny cliffie here are things too difficult to cope with for my weak little heart! Needless to say I liked this chapter (since I like all of them ) I don't know what others feel about Derek but I've always felt a wee bit sad for him..Idk, just a feeling I got after reading the chapters. So that makes me exactly like Rebecca (except for the fact that she's pretty and smart and all that ) But seriously, the way Derek is feels a bit strained and not how a person usually is in natural circumstances. It feels like he has his guard on all the time. Again, very little was shown of Charlie except for the fact that I found him immensely cute when he went for all that gear shopping with Travis. I'm a bit wary of Luke at the moment. Derek doesn't need to know from an a$$hole like Luke about Charlie. That'll be just too evil on your part. I'm telling you once again, get a hear Hamen Cheese and post the next chapter soon!!

I love all of your stories and appreciate the fact that the Shack is so old but so loved... The Shack was the first ever site I came across and I'll always be grateful that your stories made me want to read more. I dug in and came across a lot of talent on various similar sites. But first love, sigh... Continue loving your work since we all already love it..and don't worry, the emotions you want to covey, hit us right in the middle of the eyes... so you're pretty perfect in that department..
