Thanks for the review! Yeah, Siggi certainly fails at being positive. If he's like this now, imagine what it will be like when he actually becomes an old man... O.o The image of Gunni in a platinum armour was very amusing. Thanks a lot! I should probably find a way of putting it into the plot... I'm humbled by your enthusiasm. Thanks again for taking your time to review and like the story.

Hehe, I'm glad you liked it. Writing Siggi is lots of fun. If I was mean I would just leave him like this forever so I could get endless amusement with his lines, but fortunately I actually care about plot/character development...A "rehabilitation" will depend largely on what you consider this "rehab" to be, or how much "rehab" is "enough rehab". Everyone is going to change and grow as the story progresses (that's part of the reason it's written in first person by two different people), but which direction this change takes is, well... "secret of state" so to speak And yes, Dmitri might as well be in permanent state of arousal, but I won't say much until the next chapter shows up. Then there will be some real fun. =D "Nest of predators" - I like that. Makes me feel kind of sorry for Gunni, but still... Thanks for the review!
  3. For most of the afternoon I thought this day could not get any worse. As Karen prepared for the concert her voice increased in volume and annoyance, more so if she mentioned the replacement. She was under the impression that we shared her curiosity about what that kid was doing at any given moment in time. “He’s probably very excited now! How long do you think he takes to get dressed?” “Not as long as you, we hope,” the bastard said, handing her some sort of powdered make-up. They had forced m

    Questions

Well, it's Margrét, so that was pretty close! (And anyway, Margaret is the translation, like Eiri translate to Erik) For me the worst part of Margrét's lines is that it is all stuff I've head before at work and around the internet. It would be "wonderful" if she could just be a character of extreme hatred that was there just to advance the plot, but there are actual _people_ like her around... Well, at least the next chapter is about the concert... o.o' Thanks for reading and for the review!
  5. WARNING (if you haven't seen it before): the chapter contains details of Henry's injuries and how they happened. Oscar is triggered by it and we finally learn what happened between him and his father at the end of Chapter 02. (The beginning and end of these particular bits will be marked by sentences in bold. Don't read anything between them if you would rather skip those parts) After all the things Helena told Jean, everyone seemed to think the blond had become someone who was at best incon

    Questions

All I can say is that Gunni has a number of people around him that could give him that strength... And well... I can't really reveal anything about next chapter yet. Soon, my friend, soon... Thanks for the review!
  7. Aunt Margrét was waiting for us in her front garden. I immediately recognised her as the person standing behind Eiri in the old family photo I had seen in his kitchen. She was obviously older now, but her severe demeanour was the same. There was not even a shadow of a smile when she made eye contact with her son, and when she turned to me the hair on the back of my neck shot up. Her eyes were green like mine and mum’s, but were cold and almost angry. I wanted to turn around and run all the way b

    Good Sex

Olivia's thought was more on the lines of "if this thing is on my stomach and I get up, it's going to run down there". It's still somewhat on the paranoid side, but if you're 15 and is absolutely horrified of the possibility of having children, you can't be too careful... Emma and Edward are still children. There's so much pressure out there for men to "man up" and not show their grieving (or general emotions) that the way Mr Smith dealt with it got its fair share of criticism. There will be more on that later, but for now this little explanation will do. And poor Oscar, you shouldn't ask such a question, particularly when Jean is in the vicinity (his answer is largely influenced by this particular variable... =P) Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy the next chapter too!
  9. Somewhere in the back of my mind I knew I should have dreaded the sight of my house approaching at the end of the street. I had lied to my parents, after all. I should be fearing their questions about what I had gotten up to during the ‘school trip’, which they believed had been nothing more than an excuse for me to have ‘intimate moments’ with a new, secret girlfriend. Yet, despite all this hard evidence of my impending doom, I remained consistently cheerful right up to the moment I crossed the

    Stress

Thank you for the review! Siggi is 19, so yeah, he can be a bit immature... (says the writer who's barely 23). Quite a few bad things have happened to him, so he does have his reasons. Arnar will be introduced as a "proper" character later and hopefully it will help to put some light on Siggi's reasoning. Thanks for reading!

    Stress

There will be (much) more about Siggi's childhood in upcoming chapters. Decide for yourself if it's a good or a bad thing. Next chapter will be Gunni's dinner with his scary aunt. Thanks for the review!

    Stress

You'll find out about Siggi's reasons soon enough, so I can't really say much right now. The warning was up there because I've seen some people getting triggered by the "sex with pain" part, so I thought I should warn readers just in case. It's not nice if someone is reading through your story and is then suddenly triggered by this or that thing. Hope that helps Thanks for reading and reviewing again!

    Meetings

No problem. ^^~You'll get to see more of Dmitri in the next few chapters... then you can decide for yourself! It's Eiri, by the way. It's the Nordic version of "Erik" - if that helps? The dinner will be on chapter 7. Not so much waiting now... Thanks for reading and commenting!
  14. If there was any hope my colleagues would see sense and treat the kid for what he was, it was fast fading away. The longer they spend playing together, the more they seemed taken by that intruder. At the break on Wednesday they surrounded the kid to inquire about his boring, gloriously perfect life. I tried to keep my distance, but inevitably I ended up learning a thing or two about the brat: One: his mother worked at a hospital in Akureyri. They had the most disgustingly wonderful relationship

    Bad Sex

Well, it's not necessarily that you are dense... you just noticed something else and arrived at a different conclusion. This thing about her boobs is important, though, so you might want to keep that in mind. Jean is used to getting what he wants... though how he gets it is more of a murky zone... Happy holidays to you too! (or at least hope you had some, if they're already over)

    Good Sex

“So, looks like you and Jean had a good time…” Olivia told me, examining me up and down as if looking for any lingering signs of our deeds in the forest. Her gaze was slightly unnerving, though at least she seemed a lot more cheerful now that she had eaten her breakfast. During the time I was gone she had changed to a black loose shirt and comfortable-looking baggy trousers. “What were you doing back there?” “Jean was giving me tips to use on you.” I answered, surprised that I managed to say su

    Awaited

Well, I hope the next chapter clears some things up for you... I'm glad you liked the chapter and thanks for the review!
  18. James Hiwatari

    Awaited

Yes, he makes me laugh too, though probably due to wrong reasons... =P(also, Siggi's probably allergic to ants, so I don't think he would appreciate your metaphor =D) Hope Gunni's chapters are still entertaining in comparison. Soon you'll get to see how far we can poke Siggi. Thanks for reviewing!
  19. James Hiwatari

    Awaited

Hehe... let's say rehearsals will be "interesting"...(and yes, you spelled Dmitri's name right! XD) Hope you like the next chapter! Thanks for reviewing!
  20. After I had taken my seat on the plane, the pilot announced that because of the bad weather we would have to wait a while before we were cleared for take off. We ended up waiting for an hour, and I became worried that Eiríkur would end up having to wait for me all this time in Reykjavík. Hopefully mum would be able to get hold of him before it was too late. It didn’t feel right to put my cousin through this kind of situation when he was being so nice to me, even if I thought this “niceness” was

    Camping

Well, Jean has his own ways of getting what he wants... he's very 'resourceful', let's put it that way... ('naughty' is an understatement...) More details on the camping trip are on their way! Hope you enjoy the next chapter too... Thanks for reading! =D
  22. James Hiwatari

    Bad Sex

Trigger Warning (in case you missed the one on the chapter note): some bits of the third and second scenes of the chapter heavily imply that child sexual abused occurred to a certain character in the past. If you would rather skip those scenes, the Chapter End Note has a summary of their content. After Olivia’s kiss things escalated quickly. She somehow had the right kind of motor coordination to not only be able to get out of her trousers in the dark while still on top of me, but also to get m

    Unexpected

Hehe, I guess some of your answers can be found in chapter 4. Hope it satisfies your curiosity (at least until Gunni's chapter comes along with more details XD). A storm advisory should be present anywhere Siggi goes. In fact, it should be made law that one walks ahead of him warning others of his incoming presence. And 'good day'? What do you mean by 'good day'? I don't think Siggi understands that concept. =P Thanks for reading!
  24. James Hiwatari

    Unexpected

Thank you for the review! I have great fun writing the two styles of narration. For some reason, I like writing the arseholery of Siggi more. I guess I like bitching about things... =P Some of their first meeting appeared in chapter 4, but in chapter 5 you get to see a lot more detail from Gunni's side. Hope you like it!
  25. James Hiwatari

    Unexpected

Siggi is a bit of an ass, yeah. He needs to learn a couple of things about standard human decency. Yes, everything concerning Eiríkur was a bit sudden ("Ei" ir pronounced like the "ay" in May, and the "i" sounds like "ee". Hope that helps with pronunciation...). There is obviously a reason for this (imagine the giant plot hole there would be otherwise! XDD), but now is not the moment to talk about it. Just how different Eiríkur became will be made quite obvious in chapter 5, so until then you are free to make your own guesses! Thanks for reading!
