    Chapter 7

Haha! Lucky thing Marty chose to jump to Hrishi's defence in a quiet, private place where nobody knows who he is! ;-) I wonder if Leon and the guys were able to see that little confrontation from the stage. I kinda think that Leon has figured it out already - I'm certain that he is more observant than he lets on. Well, we will find out soon, right Sasha? Right?? OTOH, I don't want this story to end any time soon; I'm loving it. But hang on - I do recall a mention of a chapter 11, so we're good for a while yet! Thanks, Sasha!

    Heat

A tiger-striped surfboard - very cool! And Dad came through too, as Huan-Yu predicted, and it all worked out perfectly timed for a spring break trip south! Wonderful! Although I'm pretty sure that Emmett can't wait to get back up north... Jian must be very happy, as well as more confident now that it's clear his internship at the zoo is working out well. Thanks for this uplifting chapter, Sasha - much appreciated, as always!
  3. Cooking for one is very important to me! I learned to cook from my father, grandfather and a great-aunt who had trained at Cordon-Bleu in London. When, just as life was wonderful in every way, I found myself on my own and all alone (in the space of months cancer took both parents; heart attack took my boyfriend and husband-to-be). I lost interest in caring for myself for a time, until good friends gave me a shake and a reason to shape up. I abandoned the hateful city and moved back to rural Quebec, living all alone for now, and slowly getting back on track. And part of that is insisting on three sit-down meals every day, finding new recipes and trying new stuff. To me, it is part of re-establishing my self-respect, as well as reclaiming the things I used to enjoy doing. I don't want to slide back down that slippery slope again!

    Chapter 6

Marty must have feelings of some sort for Hrishi if he's still following orders to not wear underwear. But it's hard to discern what those feelings might be, at this point; Marty's evidently been brought up by parents who were once attracted to each other now fighting tooth and nail all the time, so how can we expect him to have a balanced outlook on how to conduct a relationship? Hrishi's background we don't know, but I wouldn't be surprised if it had turbulence in it. I hope these two can work it out, one way or the other, before they do permanent damage! Thanks, Sasha!

    Training

*blinks* *mops brow* Wow. I hope polar bear tongues are smooth, and not rough like a cat's! *looks speculatively at deer outside window* That seemed like a very effective way to distract Jian from his family troubles. Well, that kind of attention would distract anybody from anything! Sad for Jian that his family are disappointed in him, but I'm thinking that there must be some way he can get back in their good graces; Sashaworld has many possible remedies, I have no doubt. But how to do this from halfway around the globe? And we're at chapter 22 already! All in good time... thanks, Sasha!

    Chapter 5

Marty's going to have to deal with Leon and the others at some point, and sooner rather than later. Or maybe he's subconsciously putting that off because the risky sex is so intoxicating. But I'm betting that Leon won't make much fuss beyond the obligatory teasing. OTOH, we don't know Leon that well, so maybe... hard to feel sorry for Marty in his predicament when he's getting so much great sex! Thanks, Sasha!
  7. Oh boy, does this story bring back memories of my last year of high school! You've really captured the moonstruck, confused angst that is so much a part of that age. As always, the dialog and interaction of the characters is so accurate and believable that they come to life, and I have a vague feeling that I must have encountered them at some point. Very nice. Thanks, Sasha!

    Influence

Jian will have all of the zoo animals lined up doing morning calisthenics in no time! The zoo would be foolish to not hire him immediately; I hope his interview goes well, and that he quickly gets over any feelings of inadequacy he may have, including and especially towards his wonderful boyfriend. My aunt once had a dog, part Husky, from the Parry Island Indian Reserve (not far from Killarney, actually), back in the 1960s when she spent a gap year with the YWCA there. And from all accounts, this dog understood pretty much everything that was said. Aunt and dog both went to Harvard graduate school later on. Pitanê could be a distant relative! I loved this chapter a lot, now that our two heroes are getting along so perfectly together. I hope it continues, but one never knows, in Sashaworld! Thanks, Sasha!

    Chapter 4

Hrishi is a royal pain in the neck! He seems to be milking this moment of nerd superiority over the rock and roller. Or perhaps he's had other encounters like this one before. I would find him very frustrating to try to get to know, at least in the manner Marty would like to "know" him! And Marty isn't blameless, of course - but at least he recognizes that he ought to be speaking out in Hrishi's defence, when the situation arises. Will these two converge into a non-confrontational friendship? Fun to watch it all unfold - thanks Sasha!
  10. So, are those the creative juices I keep hearing about? Very inspiring, but not in a productive way! Nice little slice, Sasha, thanks!

    Animal

It's wonderful that Emmett's students appreciate and interact with him so well. It must be very rewarding for both them and him, and I'm sure the university will be taking notice too, particularly after the upcoming exhibition. I hope that Jian can find a job that involves working with animals, he loves them so, and is so very good at communicating with and controlling them. As a trainer, all he would have to do is explain to the animal positive and negative aspects of a pet's life and work his not-a-tiger magic on them. He could charge a fortune and still have owners lining up at the door! I'm very much enjoying watching this relationship develop; looking forward to more! Thanks, Sasha!

    Chapter 3

Phew again! I hardly get cooled off after Emmett and Jian, and now these two have me all steamy again! Must be something in Sussex water, jeez! :-) Hrishi is certainly an interesting character. I wonder if he has had other sexual encounters or if his experience is all from the interwebz. Marty, on the other hand, just seems a little lost. Not at all like rock guitarists are supposed to be! I'm very curious to see how they manage to collaborate on the coding project! C'mon chapter 11! Thanks, Sasha!

    Dance

Phew! This chapter certainly warmed me up! *wipes brow again* Zeke seems pretty cool about meeting Emmett and Jian at the club, but Zuberi seemed to be poking around for something. Will he try to lure Jian into a modelling gig? Have to wait and see! I sure wish that E&J's synchronized dreaming could be a real thing! That would be awesome, as long as both (all?) participants were in agreement! Jian continues to be surprising, and I have a feeling there are more surprises to come. Thanks, Sasha!
  14. Lucky Craig! All the teachers at my school were ancient! Lucky again: his friends are, apparently, tolerant of his orientation; like many, I was grateful to get through a term without permanent injury. Nice vignette - thanks, Sasha!

    Chapter 2

Are they really doing vision processing and machine learning in 6th form these days? Wow. That makes me feel old!! ;-) Both Leon and Hrishi need a little attitude adjustment and Marty is stuck in the middle, wondering how to deal with both his old friendships and this new attraction. I'm hoping he succeeds because his situation is very familiar to me! I'm thinking that he will - many musicians that I know are also excellent software developers - but I'm sure that it won't be easy or straightforward as long as Sasha is in charge! Loving this story already; thanks Sasha!

    Arrival

Poor little Pitanê! To see his #2 friend be suddenly replaced by a polar bear must have snapped a few synapses that had been pre-programmed over centuries of evolution! But he handled it pretty well. Apart from drawing blood, of course - not the best response had that been a bear out in the wild! Everything is nicely falling into place for our two (three!) friends; makes me wonder what Sasha has up his sleeve... :-) Thanks Sasha!
  17. I didn't see this thread until today. I am devastated by this news. Skinny, I've been re–reading 18 Weeks and enjoying it even more than the first time. And there's not been a day that I haven't thought of you. I wish there was something I could do, more than just wishing for a miracle. Hugs, xxx.
  18. To see a full-on Hunt go by must be a very impressive sight. I doubt I'll ever get closer than reading about them in period British novels. Hunting here in Quebec is a mainly solitary endeavour, requiring much patience and the ability to sit still for long periods of time, and the goal is to fill the freezer for the long winter. Not the same thing at all! Plenty of foxes here, too, but farmers have long ago learned how to protect their flocks. Mainly, they serve to help keep the rodent population down. I bet Dashi could outrun any of those foxhounds!

    Chapter 1

*waves frantically* Me! Me! I know the difference between Python and Java! :-) I can already tell that I'm going to love this story! Sasha has so many interesting people occupying his brain. We're very lucky to be able to meet them when they do pop out! Thanks for these two, Sasha!

    Wonder

Such a lovely, happy way to warm up on a day that is gray and snowing hard outside! There is certainly no hesitation on Emmett's part now! These two just serve to prove that opposites do attract! Even if Pitanê does grow to be 90 pounds I'm sure that Jian will have no difficulty controlling him, just as he does his polar bear. Thanks, Sasha!

    Family Matters

Jamie's mother and mine would have gotten along famously! Some of those lines could have been direct quotes. J & B certainly are athletic! So much energy; so many bodily fluids!! :-) Nice pacing with the flashbacks, this story moves along with great rhythm. Hmmm. I'm thinking it might be time to get this property surveyed... thanks, Sasha!

    Daddy Issues

Crocodiles are not my idea of "cuddly", but these Egyptian gods don't play by earthly rules, that's for sure! Poor Anubis - it must be difficult to put the moves on Nefertiti, or anyone, when other gods can probably see what you're up to! Oh well, Horus always seems willing and ready! Thanks for taking me into new territory, Sasha! Your writing is brilliant, as always!
  23. Oh. This explains why so many stories suddenly appeared at once! I really should look into the forums more often! :-)

    Trade Deals

I... I... I have no words; I am speechless. Magnificent, Sasha. You never fail to amaze!

    Longing

We knew that Jian could invade Emmett's thoughts at will, but that Emmett can project himself into Jian's consciousness is very cool, and shows that the bond between them is more than strong. Plus they can use that trick later on to embarrass each other in public places, back in the city! Emmett had better get working on his project of driving to the North Pole while there is still enough ice to do that! Jian is going to need more than the tiger hoodie for that trip! And gloves! Such a a relief that those two are finally getting together, and communicating on the same channel! Thanks, Sasha!
