I hate to break it to you, Coastguard, but this story didn't start in 2010. It started in 2001. Just check out the original link on Nifty: http://www.nifty.org/nifty/gay/highschool/my-only-escape/. So it's taken 13 years to get 18 chapters (although after the first couple, the average time between updates has been about a year). Hard to imagine that when this story started, I was in the closet, and now I've been with my hubby for almost 11 years. My vague recollection, from some ancient interview Comsie gave, is that this story is somewhat biographical in nature (at least the relationship between Zach and his father) so updates are difficult.

This is getting interesting... I like the dream sequences. How will Krilla reconcile his "destiny" as King of Atlantis with his love for Aleksi... I guess we'll find out.

I just found this story over the weekend. What a read. I must say that I generally have kept my "gay reading" separate from my "sci fi" reading because I read them for different reasons, but this story has gotten me to rethink that separation, because it hasn't read like a "gay story" - it's just a great story, period. My only complaint (not your fault) is that it's not done, and I can't wait for the next chapter! So please, keep going. I can't wait to find out who the arbiter is, what the true nature of this planet is, and how Shay and Mira's life together evolve...

This is a great story. I beg you to update more frequently, but, having no stories here myself, I get that you have a life and that good fiction is hard to write. I really like all of the characters, although it would be good to understand Matt a bit more - where's his head?
