Thank you Andrew for posting again, why stop something you are really good at. I love the story and the cast, and hope to hear from Peter and Jason soon. Also, I like how you deal with Dean and Darryl - but Hanna better behave!!!

I have been waiting soooo long for the continuation of this story, but somehow it is worth every second. Go Derrick, you are a class by yourself.

Nice development of the story - I kinda like the judge, although it scares me that he has such a tight grip on the law enforcing community, he has to watch his hats and roles in society... About the lyrics, I think that was beautiful. I don't know the song myself, but I see no harm in using this in a fiction story as long as it apperars where it is taken from. Many authors do this to illustrate a mood. I can picture Andy standing there getting the images in his head, that's what makes exiting reading, I think. I miss some pointers as to what goes on in Joey's head, surley he must be reeling with emotions, that is something I would like to read about. Keep up the good work!

I was just preparing a humble request for a continuation of this story as I read the previous 19 chapters over the last week - I wasn't really aware of the fact that the story was in progress. The arrival of chapter 20 was such a pleasant surprise. The whole story is so well put together, and Derrick is such a nice guy he deserves the best. I certainly hope he will come out to his mother, I wouldn't be surprised if she would support him 100 % anyway, so now I'll wait patiently (for now) for the continuation - keep up the good work on a lovely story.

Dear Andy, It is hard to grast that this is the end - I have taken great joy in both Second shot and The trial. I wasn't aware of the fact that victims were allowed to speak directly before sentencing, in my country that task is assigned to a special lawyer representing the victim. As I have said on many occations, I have grown very fond of Jason and Peter, and if you find the inspiration to write more, I'll be first in line to read it! So many loose ends or what? Grandma and Granpa Henry, Deans fate, Peter and Jasons careers, what happens to Blake? The reason all these questions emerge is because you write the story so very believable. Enjoy your paternity leave, I'm just waiting to see what Quonus10 will publish next time. K Norway

Nice build-up and story so far, eager to see where it is going. I have never known anyone in Joey's situation, so I guess we must expect bad news here. That's sad, also i RL, brings out tears for sure.

Thank you Andy for again making a thorough and solid piece of litterature. I have enjoyed reading the story, and I am fascinated by the way you make your characters and story believable and alive. Your writing has a nice flow that makes it easy to dive into the story, no quirks or disruptions. Important too to give a message on hate crime, I hope Jordan gets his sentence good and proper. A pity still to put a young person away for 50 years, instead of working on making him realize what he has done and make him into a contributor to society. I am eager too to read the conlusion of this story, I have grown very fond of Peter and Jason and their families - with their relationship I am sure they will manage to put the attack behind and move on. Good story so far, especially after reading Second Shot twice, my eyes still flood going through the story. One thing thoug - seeing from Peters testimony he is still not able to practise or teach, that sucks big time. I remember Jason said to someone (don't remember who) that Peter was "crazy" when on the mat, I sure hope he will be fully restored, despite his back injuries. There is time to set it right in this story? right? please?
