  1. I love this story. Really well written, and I'm looking forward to the development of the relationship between Ricky and Danny. I'd also tick the "like" button as well, unfortunately GA has told me I have reached my quota.
  2. I only recently found GA, but I have been very impressed with the stories on here that I have read so far. Some of them I've laughed over they have been so funny whilst others I have wept over, and I've always left reviews - once I've finished drying my eyes. I started reading on Nifty a number of years ago, but got fed up with the ridiculous unrealistic and seriously overused sex scenes. Far too many of the stories focused on the sex, leaving out the emotions, the story and the people. I know sex is a natural part of life, but what has really impressed me with the stories I have read on here is that the authors know it is just that, a part of life. I'd really hate for you or anyone else to give up on something you love doing. I was always told in school that one negative remark makes you forget ten positive remarks. It almost makes me rethink my plans to start posting my own story next year.
  3. I can't believe I already love Ricky. I suppose he reminds me a lot of me at that age - spent too much time in the headmaster's office. I laughed over Josh having the post-it with "Don't forget Ricky". Since he forgot to give him lunch, it wouldn't surprise me if he'd left without Ricky. I wonder how long it will take Josh to get used to having a child to look after again - especially one who sounds like Taz from the Tasmanian Devil cartoons. God help Josh if he takes another child in too soon.
  4. Many happy returns, and wishing you a merry christmas
  5. If he's bigger than me I'm a bottom, if I'm bigger than him then I'm a top.

    Shane

While parts of the story are unbelivable as G01851 says, it's fiction! It's not real! This is a brilliantly written story and the first half broke my heart. I haven't cried that much in years. For my liking the ending was wrapped up too quickly, but that's just me. I know the ending is really cheesy, and I usually love the bad guy winning, but with everything Shane has endured in his short life, noone deserves happiness like he does. My heart goes out to all the children everywhere who have sufferred like Shane. Wherever they are, I pray God is watching over them.

I was unsure about whether to read this story or not as I am not a fan of the "military" genre in any format (book, TV, film etc). To anyone with the same trepidations, if you don't put them to one side and read this then you are missing out on one of the best stories I have come across in many years (I am including stories by professional authors in that statement). Both the story and characters are developed exceptionally well and it was an emotional rollercoaster ride of highs and lows - with the lows being so exceptionally well wrtitten, that it leads me to believe that GhostRyder15 must either know someone who has gone through the same emotions or has experienced them himself. One of the few stories out there that I do not hesitate to give a 5/5 for. My only minor criticism is that although a number of characters (and partners) are introduced and have their relationships develop, they quickly fade into the background and disappear from the story. As the story progresses, it become clear why - the story begins to focus on the relationship of two of the units members. I for one can't wait for further stories on Unit One.
