People at my high school suck. Everyone is such douchebags and assholes. Not even to me specifically, just in general and to each other. I may only be in grade 10 and I may not be one of the popular kids, but I was totally right in thinking this. The day I saw, what I hoped, was a kid from my school pop up in the World of Warcraft server I play on, was the most exciting day of my life. To my delight, the account was only a level 4, whereas I was 58. UnobtainiumKnight69: NOOB!!!! MadisonHighG

Would it be Castaway Hotel? Otherwise, I'm not sure the story is still published on the site. I did a site specific (only GA) search for "Texas + learning disability". Besides Castaway Hotel, there were no results.

That was my biggest reason for thinking it was photoshopped. With that being said though, it's still really cool.

I noticed that too, Mann. I guess it was just a mistake. [Edit: I left a review, but this story seems quite fabulous.]- 20 replies

Once again, an essay of a review and intimidating. But ultimately, a really good thing! The entire short is a balance between dialogue moving the emotional transformation forward and deceiving the reader. It was a really challenging balance to maintain, but I think I did it well enough. Yeah! Words really are more then just wonders sometimes. As this character is giving the eulogy, he's having fundamental realizations about his brother. That was another big point as well, this isn't the type of eulogy that you'd give at ANY funeral, ESPECIALLY your little brother's. I tried to make that point by having the couple walk out half-way through. That's not really something that would normally happen. I like to keep it vague! The vague you are with needless details, the less likely you are to trip up with continuity or bog the story down. I like to keep it light and to the essentials. I like that you figured it out, haha. But glad that most other's don't seem to. Like I said, it was a difficult balance to maintain, between moving the story forward and deceiving the reader. But thank-you. I like the idea, too. I actually found a Scrabble-approved list of all 4-letter words. It was a little over 5,500 words long. It took me several hours, but I narrowed it down to about 500. From those 500, I picked words that I had some sort of vague story idea about. I have another one ready to go, and am in the process of writing another one. I have ideas for half a dozen more that I just need to put onto paper. You and me both.

Definitely Not Kitty

Heh. That's interesting. I wasnt around to ... experience her, but I've heard about her. I guess her reputation exceeds her. -
Thanks. I disagree! I think sometimes saying less is really saying more. I prefer that technique and probably lean on it a bit too much in my short stories. But I think it's served me well up to and including this. "Less is more." Why didn't you like it ending in a proposal?

“What do you mean it’s not real?” I was in shock, I couldn’t believe what my boyfriend, sorry, fiancée, was telling me. “Simon, Santa and his workshop at the North Pole isn’t real.” “I can’t even right now.” I mumbled as I got up. Okay, so I’m 20, not 12, sue me. But I couldn’t help but feel like a large part of my childhood had been taken away from me. Granted, my childhood’s been over for a while, but still. This was devastating news. Both our parents are quite wealthy, so we had gone to

“My brother’s a brat and I kind of hate him.” I paused, watching as the crowd in front of me shuffled uncomfortably in their seats. I stood at the podium, resting on it with my fingers intertwined. “I know I shouldn’t be saying that, because he’s my brother and all, but it’s true.” Again, I paused. Everyone in the crowd before me was looking incredibly uncomfortable and obviously had no idea where I was going with this. Frankly, I didn’t know, either. I was winging all of this, sayin

Yeah, it's definitely outside of my usual style! Oh, no. That would have been terrible! I'm very glad it ended the way it did, instead. Awesome, thank-you very much.

A rabbit was being chased by a bear through the forest. They both stopped when they saw a frog hovering in the air. The frog looked at them and said, "Ah. I've never seen creatures like you two before. What a pleasant surprise, so I'll grant you both three wishes." The bear puffs his chest up and speaks first. "I wish that all the other bears in the forest were female!" The frog smiles and tells him that it's been done. The rabbit speaks quietly, "I'd like a helmet, please." The frog smiles and a helmet appears on the rabbit's head. The bear wishes for all the other bears in the entire country to be female. The frog once again smiles and tells him that it's been done. The rabbit wishes for a motorcycle. The frog tilts his head a bit, out of curiosity, but grants the rabbit's wish. The bear smiles and wishes that all the other bears in the entire world were female. The frog smiles and tells him that it is so. The rabbit smiles. "I wish he," turning to the bear, "was gay."

Some of the comments make valid points: If true, he probably just breached a confidentiality agreement (NDA) and will be fired. Warner Brother's should know that Justin Bieber is basically a punchline now, so casting him is shooting themselves in the foot With Bieber's ego, he'll be a nightmare to work with and that'll reflect in the movie. I legitimately hope this isn't true. But I also think it isn't. If it turns out to be true though, I know of one less movie I'll be watching in 2015.

Naw. But thank-you.

I'll be sure to keep you in the dark for now on, then! Thank-you.
