Before I could lock it, the door swung open, and a furious Chris stormed into the room. The sound of the door slamming shut behind him startled me enough to make me jump, but I didn't back away. Rolling my eyes, I gave the big stupid lug my back. “Didn't I just fire you?” “You're not getting rid of me that easily, Hudson.” “Honestly, you're getting rid of yourself, the way you're acting. I'm going to bed. See yourself out." I left him standing in the living room. Before I could s

“HEY, BOSS!” Rex Marlowe glanced over his shoulder toward the sound of his friend’s voice. Shouting over the auto-tuned vocals of the latest pop starlet’s techno-grunge remix, Eli repeated his call and motioned him over with a wave. He looked around the bar, wondering why Eli was calling him. There wasn’t a line at the door, so there wouldn’t be any reason for his bouncer to need him. It was Saturday night, and the Buckle was busy as hell. He didn’t have time to be fooling around. Re

“Will you two get up already?” I let out an exasperated huff. Grant and Chris rose from their kneeling positions. They stood there, staring at the ground, neither speaking. I looked back and forth between them, waiting. The silence lingered until it became excruciatingly uncomfortable. “For god’s sake. You guys make me crazy.” Still neither spoke. “Okay, whatever. I'm not doing this. Find someone else.” I pushed past Grant, who finally turned around. “Hudson, you can't do that!” “Since bo

“Hudson? Are you okay?” Chris’s voice sounded so far away. I opened my eyes to find his blurry face over mine. He helped me to a sitting position, and every joint in my body protested being moved. “Ow…” I blinked a few times until the room came into focus. The caretaker’s dried husk of a body lay next to me, his hands stuck outward as if he was still trying to grab me. “Oh god, that's gross.” I grabbed Chris’s jacket and pulled myself closer. He helped me to my feet, and I looked around the

Using a dagger, Chris shoved the tip into the cuff around my wrist. With a sharp turn, the cuff snapped open and it fell to the floor. Before the metal even clanged onto the concrete, Chris was standing over me. He had his fighting stick, still painted neon blue like a lightsaber. “Touch him, and I will kill you,” Chris said through gritted teeth. “Though I may do that anyway.” In the corner cell, the lupoid had awoken. It shook off the dirt like a dog, snarling and slobbering as it clamored t

I opened my eyes, but all I could see was a haze of gray. My right arm burned, as if it was stabbed by a billion pins and needles. It took me a moment to realize I had a metal cuff around my wrist, which was connected by a heavy linked chain to a plate in the concrete floor. I was laying on said floor, which was freezing cold. I could feel the dampness of the concrete had saturated my clothing, and I shivered violently. The smell of mildew permeated the air, along with something that was fami

I guess I didn't explain it too well... Chris is trained to protect the caretaker, but the caretaker has been corrupted by evil.

“Chris? What are you doing?” The warble in my voice gave away how nervous I was. I felt the bed dip with Chris’s weight, and I was keenly aware of his closeness. I could feel the heat of his body. I could smell his odor, a combination of musk and sweat. He clearly hadn’t showered since the fight. “I wanted to make sure you were okay.” That did not sound like Chris. “Did Grant send you in here?” “Yes.” “Figures.” “Look, both of us want you to be okay. But we also need to make sure the thin

I shuddered as a cold breeze flew up the back of my thighs and my ass. “Brr!” “We should get out of here,” Grant said. Chris nodded. “Agreed.” “Yeah,” I quickly agreed. “I’m freezing my ass off.” Not to mention, I was filthy—and the silence of the surrounding lupoid-infested woods was freaking me out. I reached back and grabbed the tattered Fred Flintstone costume and made another futile attempt to cover myself. Feeling self-conscious, I looked over at Chris, following his gaze to my backside

The door shut with a bang behind me and an icy breeze swept up the back of my legs. I reached back and tugged down the hem of my tunic. I reeked of beer. Near the corner of the house was an outside faucet. Tucking the inflatable club between my legs, I bent down, turned the faucet on and rinsed the beer off my hands. Having no towel, I wiped them dry on my costume. As I stood, I wrapped my arms around my body. I felt the goose bumps rising on my skin. A gentle breeze wafted through the trees.

What the hell are you still doing here? My inner voice was right on the money. What was I doing here? I only came to the party because my best friend Grant begged me to. “Come on, Hudson,” he’d said. “It'll be a blast. We’ll get dressed up, have some drinks and chill. You'll meet lots of guys...” Agreeing to come was arguably my second major mistake of the night. The first was, hands down, letting Grant pick my costume. Being so last minute, I didn’t have one lined up, but Grant said he had a

When he heard the front door open and close, Eli pocketed his phone and met Noah in the living room. Thank God. He'd spent the last two hours checking his phone continuously, waiting for a text or call from Noah. He expected Noah to be agitated when he walked in; he usually was after an encounter with his ex. That fucking scumbag. But Noah appeared to be quite calm. "Everything okay?" Noah nodded. Knowing how much he craved physical contact, Eli took his man into his arms and pulled him in

Noah sat in his car staring out the window. He was dreading going inside. Pulling out his cell phone, he checked the time. He'd told Eli to stay home and that he'd be there within the hour. That meant going inside and taking care of this. But the last thing he wanted to do was deal with Derek and his bullshit. The condo was under contract now, and this would be the last time Noah had to mess with Derek. Theoretically. Noah checked his email, answering a quick question from Nicholas about his

Noah stood in the closet he now shared with Eli. It was quite a bit smaller than he was used to. Even after donating roughly half his clothes before moving, he was still embarrassed he needed to overflow his wardrobe into the guest bedroom's closet. "What's with the scrunchy face?" Eli asked. He moved up behind Noah, wrapping his arms around him. The muscles tightened around his body. A hand slid up underneath Noah's t-shirt, the rough skin warm against Noah's smooth stomach and chest. Noah'

Noah stepped out of the bathroom, still slightly damp from his shower, wearing only a pair of grey boxer briefs. "We need to get the moving truck," he said as covered his mouth and yawned. Eli's eyes slid up and down his boyfriend's body appreciatively, lingering at the soft hairs in the middle of his chest. Traveling downward, he followed the hair that led from his navel into his underwear. Eli was intimately familiar with what hid inside, though the bulge in the tight little briefs left litt

Don't freak out. Noah glanced over at Eli. The man had both hands on the wheel, eyes on the road. Aside from the sound of the truck speeding across the asphalt road, it was silent. Maybe Eli didn't actually mean to ask Noah to move in. Maybe Eli was just feeling vulnerable because of his dad's health scare. He didn't know what he was asking. You know he did. The man has your name permanently inked onto his body for god's sake. The tips of Noah's fingers itched. Noah pushed his glasses up the

Noah bit back a surprised gasp as Eli pulled him up and tossed him onto his back. He spread his legs eagerly as Eli settled between them. His eyes fluttered shut when Eli's lips touched his stomach. He was on the verge of panting, anticipating what was to come. Eli pressed a trail of kisses up Noah's chest and neck, then his chin. "Wrong way," Noah muttered. He gave Eli's shoulder a gentle nudge, trying to direct him back down. Eli's cell phone rang again, the vibrations harsh against the smo

I think Shauna was so bent on power, she didn't really care about Buzz. She was using him to get what she wanted. Of course, it all backfired, didn't it? I like Zef too. He's a good kid. More reserved than his older brother maybe. I think he's scared by his feelings, maybe a little confused; and even though his parents are accepting and loving, there will always be a fear of disappointing them.
