Such a moving poem. I love the sentiment of love, quiet, desperate yet unknown. Beautiful use of words Menace.

So well written. You can feel the despair that Andy feels, and almost share it with him. I love the way in that single moment, he grabs the initiative to make a change, and a very cleaver use of the Red Hand required for the prompt. Great read.

Louis you got no idea how much I appreciate this review. Thanks so much for your support and encouragement.

Hi Joann,Thanks for the feedback, although these are just short stories taken from the prompts on GA. Lots more to come tho! Hope you enjoy the others as much as you enjoy these.

Hey I totally get that 'Like' thing with the like button. It's not really the best word to use for the button in my opinion. haha Thanks for the kind words. Glad you read and took the time to give feedback it means a lot.

Hey Louis. Nice words from you makes me smile lots. So thanks.I love the way you put 'Please touch me.' The number of times I've thought that over the years ey! Appreciate the review boet. -
I really enjoyed writing about the elephant. It must have been exciting times when game was in such plentiful abundance and frequently roamed into human settlements of the day. I know we've had an elephant in our camp in the 1980's and that caused an uproar, so I can imagine what it did back then!

Chapter 2 - Such Delightful News

I think that the family unit was paramount in those days, so I have tried to portray this in the story. I'm really glad you got that from the text. -
Chapter 1 - Gazed on by Angels

Thanks buddy. Is it different in a good way? -
Thanks Bugeye. I hope you enjoy the story as much as it unfolds.

Stephen your praise is high, and I hope that the story continues to meet with your expectations.Rhodesia was and still is a magnificent country if not somewhat spoilt by politics of the day. I did not take the picture of the bridge, but I agree that from that angle it is a spectacular vista of the falls and the mighty bridge. Jacob has a lot to learn, and a lot of living to do. There is much to come in this tale, including a savage twist towards the end. I hope you continue to enjoy and thank you so much for your support.

Chapter 5 - Through Fields of Gold

It is encouraging to know that the scene is authentic for the period, it is something that I have been really concerned about. Thanks for reading RJ. -

RJ thanks for your continued support and encouragement. You will never know how much I appreciate it. -
Yeah, actually I guess when it comes to art you'd feel much the same RJ?

I was finally due an upgrade for my phone which I've probably had too many years to truly consider myself to be trendy. To be honest I am no technophobe, I've just always figured that a phone is to make calls on and maybe send text messages. Ok maybe a lot to send text messages. Actually I am quite grateful for the 'unlimited' number of text messages that my traffic offers me, as there are times when i can get quite carried away with my textual conversations. However, I was really quiet stunned when I popped into Carphone Warehouse and took a look at these ultra modern smart phones that everyone wonders around with these days. I was finally tempted to depart the shop with the new Samsung Galaxy Note, a tablet smart phone that is just as good, if not better than my laptop! Staggering. How the hell do people come up with this stuff??? I mean, ok granted as a phone it is a little bigger than normal. It's not just pop it into your pocket and forget about it, it is a rather chunky size, the only real draw back I've found with the phone so far. The screen resolution and the power of the system is amazing to say the least. Hell I can read GA stories on the move on my phone now! How whacky is that. Ok yeah all you people that have been using smart phones for the last god knows how long are rolling your eyes at me now thinking, "God how out of touch are you?" But that's just it. I didn't really think I was that out of touch. I mean I've only had my old phone for about three years, and I'd stayed with Sony Ericsson who produced a remarkable phone back in the day in my humble opinion. Back then, I didn't really like the idea of a touch screen on a phone. I was always worried that putting it in my pocket would result in dozens of unwarranted calls as it was activated accidentally by the pressures on the screen within my pocket. But now that I own a smart phone, I have to be honest, I am impressed. I just can't believe how far technology has come, and how quickly it has done it. I mean, lets be fair, it wasn't all that long ago, I was playing around on an Amstrad computer trying to comprehend MS Dos. Now I'm flicking through pages on facebook, tweeting like a preacher on speed and tumbling on a thing called Tumblr. The net, and the things associated with us in an amazing world of possibility and it has inspired mankind to become a global network of friends, family and colleagues. If this is what 2012 brings in terms of technological capability, I really do wonder what 2050 will look like. Hmmmmmmmmmm Does that mean a Terminator like future could become a reality???? Oh how the imagination runs amok! Yeah, I should have made that more clear. I meant we'd get to see them both play tonight, not actually against each other. Portugal need to pull their finger out tonight or they could be going home! I think Russia gifted Poland that poin!

LOL I got a good chuckle when I read that!!! Yeah I got to be honest, I do like the challenge of a F1 race. Plus the factor of the cost of it. Each time they smash up a car, they've just written off some ridiculous amount of money. I always remember the Belgian GP in 1998 when 14 cars crashed on the second bend. After several more accidents throughout the race, only six cars managed to stagger over the finish line, Damon Hill gratefully accepting the win! Now that's what makes F1 exciting!

Totally stunned at the way Greece played tonight. That was just pants! Mind you, what a result for the Ukraine. I wonder how that result bodes for the English team? Hmmmmmm Portugal and Germany playing tomorrow. Should be good games to watch.

The 51 express train began to slow. It was early morning and the passengers had not long risen from a somewhat restful slumber on leather bound sleeper beds within each compartment aboard the carriage. The two young adventures had elected not to sleep, allowing their excitement and enthusiasm of each others company to keep them stimulated and awake as the train steamed through the night. Now as Bulawayo approached, both Jacob and Philippe could feel the anticipation of their new lives in Africa

Haha We didn't get thumped but we didn't exactly walk away with it either. Hmmmmmmm It wasn't all bad tho! To be impressed, or not to be impressed. This is the question!

It was nice to see the sun today, and I decided that we needed to get out of the house for a few hours today. It's been rainy and grey here for a while now, and there are times when the dull weather is just a little too much to bare. So we got to enjoy lunch in a country pub today. Mom was convinced she'd been there before bless her. She told me about when she'd visited and with who, despite the fact we've never been anywhere near the place before, and I couldn't help but smile and listen, agreeing with her as I just didn't have the heart to tell her she was wrong. I love my mom dearly. It hurts so much to watch her slowly decline, and be helpless and unable to stop or change it. I sometimes just wish I could take all her pain on myself and make it better for her. It's days like these that I treasure still being able to spend time with her, but it kills me slowly inside too. Really just needed someone to talk too when I got home today!

I thought Russia did well. And I agree with Bill W that Italy did look good against Spain! Disappointed with Holland tho!

Art in its basic form should be viewed as a celebration of humanity. Be it paints applied to a canvass, or ink on a paper, music from an orchestra, or motion picture on a screen, it is the giving of pleasure from one to another. Art is something we turn to for enjoyment, pleasure and contentment. I don't think we stop enough to consider how much art impacts on our lives, how it creates in us a world of emotions and expressions, how it helps us to communicate and record our history. It impresses us, inspires us and give us cause for reflection. It touches our lives in almost every way possible, and is something that we take for granted. Think about it the next time that you reach of a book, or read a story on GA. There are times that we may not enjoy what we read, or think it very good, but it is art that you are reviewing. The next time you look at a news paper, or read a magazine, it is art you are investing your time in. Stop to admire a car, or lie back relaxing with a glass of wine while listening to your favourite piece of piano music. What ever it is, there is art associated with it. In our modern world, art can be associated with so many things. Take cooking or eating out for example. Food preparation and presentation have become an art form all in itself. You only have to watch one of these ultra cool chef programs on the telly these days to see how much art goes into presenting a stunning plate of food on the table for us to eat. We appreciate the visual impact as well as the taste sensation of what we eat. I was sitting in a quiet country pub this afternoon watching them preparing cocktails, and wow, that was a talent exhibition of note. The young bar man was extremely well versed in flaring the bottles, and putting on a show while cooking up a cosmopolitan or a long island iced tea. And the visually stunning blues, greens and yellows of the drinks that left the bar to go to various customers were eye catching and were it not for the fact I had to drive, I'd possibly have been tempted to partake of these magnificent looking offerings. I recall a number of years back when I was working for a particular shopping chain in the UK, at how much emphasis they placed on window dressing and shelf presentation. It was as they called it the Art form that prompted buying. Shelving plans were received every few weeks from a head office team that would sit and work out exactly where every product was to be placed in order to be visually dynamic but also to inspire people to buy. The scary thing was, that it worked. I love my music, I adore reading. I enjoy a stunning sun set. I love a quiet candle lit dinner. I love the sound of the sea. All these things are art to me. Special, treasures and a huge part of my life and the world I live in. I guess I'm a bit of a romantic in that way, but I am grateful for these things, for thinking of living in a world without these things would be completely not worth contemplating.
