  9. ROFL. Ahem, let's put Italy out first me finks! haha Let's hope Spain pull a rabbit out the hat and despatch Germany on some fluke, and have a bad day when we make it to the finals! Ahem.....I need to take my own advice! Concentrate on Italy damit!
  10. Well now see, if anyone had told me that England would finish the qualifiers top of their table a few weeks ago I would honestly have laughed in your face. My Bad!!!!! I didn't think they would do it, but fair play to Roy he's done well with the team so far. Defensively they look good even if somewhat chaotic at times. I thought they would hurt without Frank Lampard, but Joleon Lescott and John Terry have been doing ok. They both impressed me last night. And Parker? Well the man just has an ability right now to be everywhere he's needed! While I think they could be a lot better, they seem to being stubbornly hanging in there. Italy next on Sunday, and I rather think we are in with a good shout there.
  11. One of the best things about YouTube are the huge host of really halarious parodies that are available for a good laugh to relieve the stress on a bad day. Just been looking at some stuff that's been sent in to me, and I spent the last hour giggling like a girl. I just had to share some of these.
  12. I'm a big Mike Tompkins fan, but this song has been stuck in my mind for a couple of weeks now. Love it, and all his work.
  13. As part of my job I am always on the look out for new, original or different music. Variety is the spice of life I am told, and certainly in terms of music, I find that very often a cover version of a song or a remix can add a whole new dimension to our enjoyment of a tune, or turn a song perhaps we didn't like so much into an epic tune we remember for years. Anyone that knows me really well will know that Coldplay are one of my all time favourite bands. There are a few, who's work I follow passionately, and who's concerts I attend in some kind of groupie mentality! Erm...... No not the kind of groupie for crying out loud! Actually I am not even sure if there is more than one kind of groupie! Perhaps what I should have said was that I attend as many concerts as I can, as any loyal fan would! Yes.... That sounds much better! Although I won't deny that the idea of a roll in the hay with a few of them wouldn't go amiss! Alas I digress from my original train of thought. So yeah, as a massive Coldplay fan, on their release of Paradise, possibly one of my favourite tunes ever, I promptly set out on production of a show that would profile the impact of Coldplay's music on the world, and we undertook a lot of research as a result, interviewing fans, speaking with professionals and industry experts, and looking for unique and interesting covers of Coldplay's work. Enter Mike Tompkins. In my hunt for something very unique, I came across this guy, and I was instantly amazed by his authentic and completely creative approach to making music. The more I listened to this guys stuff, the more intrigued I became, and the more intrigued I became the more I really liked what I was listening too. Mike Tompkins is one of those people that takes an art form and pushes the boundaries far beyond the scope of normality and creates something new and beautiful. He's used the concept of beat-boxing and taken it to a whole new level of existence. Some people might suggest that there is nothing fanciful or ingenious about copying another's work, but I'd challenge that. This is not a reproduction with instruments, computers and digital synthesisers. No this is someone recreating something we enjoy with nothing more than his mouth, and doing it really well in my opinion. Indeed I think the word talented fits well with what Mr Mike Tompkins does. He is providing us with a completely new experience and having a lot of fun along the way. I take my hat off to the guy, and hope that like me, you get as much enjoyment out of taking a listen as I did. 14. I've always tended to go for older cars, I am a big fan of some of the classic VW models. As a result of owning older vehicles, I have predominantly always left them open when I'm not in town, ie. home, visiting a friend, out of town store etc. I was most irritated once when I went to a Tesco's one evening, and on my return to the car, found the window smashed and the radio player stolen. All the nut had to do was open the damn door. However, I now have a modern GPS SatNav, and have installed a smart sound system into my latest car. For that reason alone, I've now gotten into the habit of locking it. At work we have a honesty system for sweets, snacks, drinks. We had a bit of a revolt against the traditional vending machines in order to obtain a variety. One member of the team each week takes the collection pot and will buy a variety of different and original stuff, and then it's put in the cupboard where we help ourselves and leave a donation. It'd become interesting in that there is like a little competition now to see who can get the whackiest selection of stuff. I'm not sure I'd leave my house open! Too much stuff to loose, and if something terrible did happen, and the insurance found out that you left the doors open that'd void any claim there and then! I think in the right situation the honesty system works, but also tend to agree with Cia in that there are far too many people too willing to take advantage of peoples trusting natures today.
  15. I think that there are sports right thoughout the spectrum of modern entertainment that are damaging to the men and woman that participate. I can only speak for a sport with which I was once associated, rugby. Well known as a rough and tumble game, it is accepted that men will crash into each other in what would off the field rightly be considered to be assault by the police and the courts. Hundreds of rugby players are injured each year, some will carry those injuries far into their life. I had my knee dislocated in a rough tackle, and to this day it will 'pop' when climbing stairs or if I spin around too fast. I understand that tennis can cause great pain long term in the joints of the arm where the repetitive action of swinging for the ball causes damage to the ligaments within the elbow. Downhill skiers often experience knee and hip problems in later life. Volleyball players can have similar difficulties with their knees and elbows from impact injuries sustained over a course of time from diving onto hard surfaces to return the ball. That is without even considering the risks associated with intensely physical contact sports like boxing, karate or judo. According to www.sprotssafety.org more than 3.5 million children aged 14 and below receive treatment for sports injuries each year in the US alone. You do have to wonder how many of those will experience ongoing injury or difficulty in later life as a result. I think that when you become serious about a sport, you begin to realise and appreciate the risks associated with the sport, and accept that risk as part of the desire to push yourself to the limit, to achieve, to stand out from the rest, to win. That drive within us allows us to face the risks, accept the pain of performance, and learn to deal with the bitterness of defeat. If you look beyond the risk, and admire the personal drive of each individual sports man and women then you can draw enjoyment from their efforts and performance.
  16. I've been on both sides of the coin in relationships. But to be fair, I've always found that good sex is something learnt over time and experience, as everyone has a different rhythm, style or quirk to their enjoyment of sexual intercourse. I think this is probably part of the reason I can't stand one night stands. Yes I've had a few, but remarkably never really felt fulfilled by one, other than once being able to say I'd been with the hottest guy ever. As much as I enjoy being top, I have also been in a relationship where I was just as fulfilled being bottom. Versatile is also pretty common and there is merit in being able to give and take pleasure in both roles. Ultimately I believe that with someone you love, you take the time to discover what makes someone tick, what it takes to make them into a quivering wreck and then take pleasure from taking them to that peak. There is a power in knowing that you can pleasure your partner to that extent. Be it top or bottom, I'd honestly say it's more about making sure that you impart as much pleasure as you get. I do get what people say about it being strange for a smaller built guy to be a top, but then again, I've been in a situation where when I started going out with a guy he was purely bottom, and freaked out when I suggested he top, but over time and with encouragement, he became a very fulfilling lover as a top and a bottom. Anything is possible when you really want to make sex great and are willing to take the time and put in the effort.
  17. Humph, so Spain and Italy carry on through, kinda as expected, however I can't say I thought Spain deserved to win their game. Actually both games today were really boring! Grrrrrrrr

    Lord of The Manor

LOL. I love how everyone's feeling sorry for Adam. I suspect he's slowly coming into his element. You know in a way this is what it must be like working in one of the human trafficking rings of the Eastern Block. Everyone bred into silence and loyalty to the cause! Oh the drama of it!
  19. I had a feeling the old man was going to die! So James is free now to do as he pleases. Although I am at a loss as to why he has to return to England! I guess I'll have to read on and hope to understand.

    Revelations

Oh grief becomes them! This training program sounds very interesting! I've even got my note book out to take notes! heheh I do hope there is not too much turmoil by this unwise attack on the Lords house! On to the next chapter James, and don't spare the horses!!!
  21. Wow the story takes on a new dimension. A lesbian affair to spice things up a little. Clever! I must admit Beth and James do seem to be peas from a pod! haha Seems like poor Adam is in a mighty confusion! Loving it Mark.

    The Girl

Hmmmmm, I wasn't expecting one of the "Merchandise" to play a central role in the story. An interesting twist, and I suspect this could prove interesting. You paint a remarkable picture of Jenny and her character. She sounds like a strong individual that could prove really interesting in the mix.
  23. :D Couldn't have put it any better! The professional fowl has become a huge part of modern football unfortunately today. A fly could fly past a footballer and he'd go down looking for a free kick, and if they are in the box, they dive better than Tom Daley!!! It can be sad, coz some really great football is ruined by some really quite cynical play.
  24. I hate to admit I'm the kind that giggles at stuff like that. Someone trips or something, I struggle to keep a straight face, even if I'm the one that helps them get up. I remember once a woman walked into a glass door in front of me, and while I'm really sorry for her pain and embarrassment, I couldn't help but burst out laughing. I think if I saw someone about to do something really dangerous or stupid, I'd say something and if they continued and went wrong I'd have a real problem controlling my laughter.
  25. As a foreigner in the UK i'm gob smacked by the variety of accents here in the UK. I actually wrote a blog about it not so long ago! The accents here have lead to some pretty funny situations over the years. I'm also amused sometimes to think of the different use of words, and the crazy situations it can lead too. So right funny stories when you look back in time.
