    Chapter 1

That is one damn scary thought!!!!!! Heck, the scariest thing is that in a world of whacky science and research, it's possible to imagine something like this really happening. Enjoyed reading Bill. Nicely done.

    Chapter 1

First one of the three that i have read. I kind of understand what it's like to grow up never having been able to talk about sex with anyone other than my peers. It's a daunting feeling in some ways. So much to discover and learn on your own, and leaves you afraid to talk of many things with people you should perhaps be able to talk to. Invokes powerful memories and fears. Well written and so real if your able to for a moment put yourself in his shoes.
  3. Gosh I've never stopped to think what it must be like on that side of the coin. That is a fantastic story you've done Rob. Paint's a vivid picture of how celebrity must act as a trap to someone in that position and really made me stop and think. I really enjoyed reading mate. Well done.
  4. Jeeeeeesh watching England play is never easy! Wow, that was quite a match. Great Wellbeck goal mind you! Anyone see that rain storm in the France-Ukraine? Reminded me of what a real rain storm looks like! Must say tho I felt sorry for the Ukrainians. Ah well, Russians back on tomorrow.
  5. Hmmmmmmmmm. Erm not too sure about this James fella. Is he good or just plain bad! Spreader bars and Hessian hoods. Oh my Mark!

    Chapter 1

Aww thanks Comicfan. I started writing it as if the character was having a conversation with me, and the more I thought about it the more I figured it'd be an interesting twist to switch it to a conversation with the reader. Thanks for ya feedback it's great to hear what you thought.
  7. I loved reading this, glad I decided to give it a go now. Something about Mr Templton really tickled me, and I got a jolly good giggle out of the humour surrounding the man. Thing is I think I knew a man that was similar to the portly Mr Templton once upon a time! Haha, exciting, mysterious, delicate yet striking. Yeah I'm gunna enjoy this.......... I'll keep you posted.
  8. LOL I love the way some of them actually are perfectly happy to hold his hand!
  9. I'd never come across anyone who'd gone through anything like this until I came to the UK, and when I did meet a young lass through a friend of mine that had made the transition, it was initially really hard to get my head around. I learnt a very valuable lesson through chatting to her and giving her the chance I could easily have snuffed out through my own naive prejudices. She took the time to explain that as a boy she'd suffered an endless turmoil and state of confusion, always wondering, fearing, asking... Just the simple change of dressing differently, growing our her hair and changing the way she lived from being all male to presenting herself as a young woman had made all the difference in the world to her life. I guess I learnt through her that my perception of a person, even one I may not initially understand is irrelevant, and everyone should be given a chance, as we all have value and meaning as part of our society. By taking the time to get to know her I made a friend where I could easily have jumped to the wrong conclusion and never known how wonderful she really was. Does the gender someone considers themselves really matter? Isn't the character of the person the thing of real value? It's not something I completely understand, but I think everyone deserves the chance to be themselves as they see fit, not as we imagine they should be.
  10. I was disappointed for the Danes! Thought they played damn well. And then I can't believe it, I feel asleep at the start of the German game! Looks like Ireland are on their way home then ey! England v Sweden tonight........ They need a good result.

Thanks Joann. It was something I had to learn quickly when I left Africa, and made me realise how important friendship really is. Thanks for the feedback. x

    The Story

Jeeesh, what a sad letter. Sad thing is how many people actually go through stuff just like that, write a similar letter, go through with such a devastating course of action? Taking time to glimpse it through their eyes is pretty rough on the emotions. The vivid clarity of the sadness and loneliness is well thought out and poignant. I can't say I liked it, but I did think it was well written. It made me sad, and when you can emote within your writing like that, then it means something to the reader, even if it is difficult to say well done for writing a suicide note.

    Chapter 3

Yey, another rafting fan. Thanks for the review MuddyRiverGirl and taking the time to read. Glad you enjoyed it.
  15. Ok so just a general question for you, when it comes down to writing/reading do you do it listening to anything, or do you need complete silence to get the mental juices flowing? And if you do choose something to listen to while your imagination puts words on paper, what is it that works best for you? To kick off, I'll let you into what I do. If I am researching I like to have silence as I find it easier to store the information I'm taking in. If I am writing, I love to have quiet chill out music, something cool like Enya or similar quietly on in the background. When I'm reading I've always got some kind of music on, tend to love the more chilled out 70's and 80's stuff, the likes of Air Supply, Duran Duran, The Carpenters, Joni Mitchell and other similar kinds of mellow music. So what do you listen to if anything at all?
  16. Aye i cannot say I ever saw one of those either, but I did see a few of the bricks, but I was far too young to be lucky enough to own one of them. I think the very first phone I ever owned was a Nokia 5110 which would have been in the late 1990's probably around 97/98 and was referred to back in Zimbabwe as a cell phone. That was the start of my life with a mobile phone. I remember the crazy thing was that it had text capability, but hardly anyone to send text messages too as not many people could afford them. My how times have changed.

    Chapter 3

The mist hangs in the air A cloud masking the rage Of the demon within the turmoil At the bottom of the gorge. Thrill erupts in the mind The sole begins to feel the beat Of a heart raging with anticipation The excitement leaves no retreat. A team climbs over the rubber The raft is ready to go Nine lives pulled together at once As the boat moves out into the flow. The water is white, angry and bright Eyes gleam with ecstasy Adrenaline breads a frenzy As

    Need of Pain

They say three is a crowd And two is just but a company No one told us about the feelings And thoughts that go with this saying. How often we walk through life Knocking on the door of love Looking into windows of warmth Wishing to be on the inside looking out. Friendship is a precious moment Of being accepted and needed A chance to be part of Someone’s idea of time well spent. A companion is one who’s hand You can hold when the chips are down One who

    The Rose

A Rose, a flower, a gift from earth of beauty untold Its gentle smell and delicate frills tell us all This is a splendor alone to behold. Pink, a colour, an attitude of peace, When one feels safe, and always at ease This symbol of hope in world of war Makes me think of days of happiness and joy. A friend, a companion, a shoulder to lean on, Something we seem to take for granted Till distance does take us apart, But through all this, true friendship is like a rose Dressed in p

  24. Blueberry pancakes are my latest craze. I am addicted to the things. Honest now, there is nothing better to wake up to on a lazy Sunday morning than freshly cooked Canadian Blueberry Pancakes with lashings of whipped cream. I’m not totally sure why we call them Canadian Pancakes, I’m sure that the recipe is similar to ones cooked in a million other homes around the world, but in our family that’s what they have always been known as, so hey, that’s what I’m going to call them. It’s actually a r

    Prompt #99

I got a good chuckle at the idea of watching you going through the dog's business in search of a ring. Just the sort of thing we do though! Nice story Andy. You create a visual image effortlessly with your writing.
