    Chapter 35

Jimmy's not an alpha, so he's never thought of himself that way, plus he hasn't been part of a pack in ages. If he had the chance, I'd hope he could rise to the challenge. He just lacks motivation.

    Chapter 35

Fergus would never believe himself capable of being an outsider. He believes his born status of being an alpha grants him absolute authority.
  3. Mann Ramblings

    Chapter 35

Yes, there are complications that will need to be managed long term.
  4. Mann Ramblings

    Chapter 35

once she settles down... it could happen.
  5. Mann Ramblings

    Chapter 35

Fergus's motives are becoming more and more erratic. More and more dangerous. It can't last forever. Something will have to give.
  6. Mann Ramblings

    Chapter 35

more info will be coming next week. It may not answer all of your questions, but should move us forward. I'm going to say Jada only got bit by one wolf. The grazing of his teeth was to show how dangerous close she came to being bitten by Patton before she pulled the trigger.

    Chapter 35

Fergus' narcissism is his biggest weakness. It leaves him feeling entitled and reckless. This can't be good for anyone.
  8. Mann Ramblings

    Chapter 35

explanations and consequences are on their way. The train is leaving the station...
  9. Mann Ramblings

    Chapter 35

Let's get her through this and see where it goes.
  10. Mann Ramblings

    Chapter 35

my original plan was for Jada to not survive this encounter, but it started sounding too much like fridging, so I decided to keep her.
  11. Mann Ramblings

    Chapter 35

    things are definitely getting interesting...
  12. “Don’t snow. Don’t snow. Don’t snow.” Pressed close to the living room window, Jada’s chant fogged the glass as she stared up at the cloud covered sky. The forecast said otherwise, but she was convinced a storm was on its way, if for no other reason but to punish her for not liking the coming season. The house sat back far enough on the property, shoveling wasn’t practical. It made snowfall particularly troublesome. Thankfully their retired neighbor, Clyde took pity on them and plowed their

    Chapter 34

**clutches pearls** I'm above such petty notions...
  14. Mann Ramblings

    Chapter 34

Sawyer and Jimmy will we willing to do whatever it takes for as long as they can. They've come too far to give up now.
  15. Mann Ramblings

    Chapter 34

Patton will get some screen time soon enough.
  16. Mann Ramblings

    Chapter 34

Cliffhangers are simply appropriate stopping points so chapters can come out weekly. Otherwise they could take weeks to write. (Or more!)
  17. Mann Ramblings

    Chapter 34

we're still moving forward. I expect things to start getting really interesting soon.
  18. Mann Ramblings

    Chapter 34

I have multiple layers of anti-mob fencing to keep out the rabble.
  19. Mann Ramblings

    Chapter 34

I hope it doesn't come to that.
  20. Mann Ramblings

    Chapter 34

I think they're a little hesitant to try anything that may make matters worse. It would be an experiment at best without guidance, and Sawyer has been through so much.
  21. Mann Ramblings

    Chapter 34

Sawyer's future isn't looking pretty right now. I'll keep my fingers crossed a reasonable solution can be found. If I was a dick, I'd end the book here with a "to be continued"
  22. Mann Ramblings

    Chapter 34

Jimmy is definitely at a disadvantage after being a loner for so long and having no other wolves to guide him. Eddie is a sore spot he may never completely forgive himself for, but at this point, he doesn't know if there's any hope for rabids or not.
  23. Mann Ramblings

    Chapter 34

It can't be angst 100% of the time. At some point, things will converge, because I don't see Fergus as someone who takes a perceived slight of any kind lightly.
  24. Body aches prompted Sawyer to open his eyes slowly in case he woke up dead. Concrete walls and iron bars in the dimly lit cellar framed a certain kind of hell, so being alive wasn’t a guarantee. Every muscle protested the slightest movement, like his biggest workout times ten, so he stayed curled on his side. The hard floor under his nude body wasn’t chilly. How long had he laid here in this cage? It felt like morning, and something significant had occurred, but he couldn’t say how he knew.
