Chapter 18
I would guess Caroline is clever enough to realize that agreeing to this scheme will earn her some credit with the Queen, Amelia and Granger, which might help her return to polite society and gain the influence she craves. But how will her oldest son react to Granger suddenly being with his estranged wife again? But I wonder how they will prevent the midwife and the servants from spreading gossip about who was the real mother of the child. And unless Amelia was very fast in realizing her pregnancy, so she is less than two months gone, the timing of the birth could bring trouble. Though if they stay secluded at Cowes for a few extra months, they may be able to carry out the deception.
Let's hope Granger will get much more quality time with Calvert in future years as a reward for all this trouble.

For once both Will and Jeremy made sensible decisions at the same time. I look forward to reading future Will parts without any mention of his ex-brother. I will be polite and say that hopefully Jeremy will become as adult as his name at some point, and that his reward will be future happiness with Kris. For once both Will and Jeremy made sensible decisions at the same time. Chapter 25
Some of my favorite CAP moments are those where Will calls his family on their hypocrisy and unjust behavior. Will has plenty of faults, but being dishonest and dishonorable are not among them. Hmmm, I wonder whether that is why Jeremy is so attracted to Kris, because he is a lot like Will. Some of my favorite CAP moments are those where Will calls his family on their hypocrisy and unjust behavior. Chapter 24
I agree. Now we know why Stef left to make a call when Will and the others went into the study to talk things over with Casey. He knew Will would need Darius, so he called him and arranged for his plane to pick Darius up. Smart move, Stef. I never liked the name JJ (presumably pronounced JayJay it is very childish in a non-cool way); however Jays is only slightly less silly. Why doesn't he use one of the proper names he was christened with ? Does anyone recall what they are ? John ? JamesOn 8/15/2024 at 3:12 PM, pickuptoy said:I think the plane was sent to get Darius.

Chapter 17
I agree, including whether the parent, whose father this is, knows about it. Kris could have a paternal grandfather who is a prince and a maternal grandfather who is a Nazi spy, although is seems as if they are talking about the same parson. If Kris lives a life of integrity, honesty and charm due to his imagined heritage, it may not be a good idea to tell him. But if they do, I think they should let JP tell Kris on his own. So back to my reaction to your initial word; "gobsmacked" may be more appropriate.

Chapter 14
Surprisingly, I'm on JJ's side for once. His family, including Will, should just leave him the fuck alone to settle into his relationship with Kris. They just invade his home at a time they decide, without asking for permission, or even having the decency to calm his fears ahead of the visit, even though they know how vulnerable he is. But of course it was still stupid of him to be deliberately late, mainly because he didn't listen to what Kris wanted. I don't care about him being rude toSurprisingly, I'm on JJ's side for once. But of course it was still stupid of him to be deliberately late, mainly because he didn't listen to what Kris wanted. I don't care about him being rude to Will (who was in his 'I-need-to-teach-him-a-lesson' mood), but he should be more sensitive to Kris' feelings and needs.

Chapter 13
Good idea, Kris ! Get Jake to ride those German assholes, who are taking your money and doing fuck-all to solve your inheritance case. Being ex-military Jake is the perfect choice even though he doesn't speak German. It got Brad on your side even more, as he knows Jake loves feeling useful and clever (which he is). If Travis doesn't learn to think before he sulks, and in particular if he doesn't stop accusing Will of something he didn't do, he will break both their relationship and Will's heart. If he had just told Will 'I got another email from my sister, who is finally playing the Woe is Travis card. I'm not sure she means it, do you want to give me your perspective?' then Will would have been supportive. But Travis wants to hold on to his hate for now, which I can understand, but Will could probably find a solution. After all, Taylor is doing this apologizing as part of her therapy (according to Zach), so Travis can probably acknowledge her attempt in a way that will help her, without doing the forgiving and forgetting which he is not yet capable of.

At least Granger managed to warn Calvert beforehand, so he wasn't caught totally by surprise. Chapter 11
I managed to read the first two lines of the chapter, and then I had to go and deal with some other stuff. All the time before I could get back to reading I was keeping my fingers crossed that Will would manage to hit the SWAT button, because I really wanted to read a description of what happened when Gills got taken down by them. Especially the look on his face We didn't get much of that, but I'm hoping for more in the next chapter when Jake (and Brad) confronts the Olympic security people.I managed to read the first two lines of the chapter, and then I had to go and deal with some other stuff. Chapter 98
Miranda is not part of the Buck family, but I guess she still is Travis' mother, so if Jake wants to have a relationship with his half brother Travis, who is the only Buck worth spending time with, he needs to deal with the rape problem. But he most likely won't have to see Miranda again, unless Will and Travis get married at some point. Which is not likely to happen for another 10+ years, right ? We still don't know who Jake talked to on the phone. Will Curtis be more upset about not knowing his wife slept with his father (and got pregnant), than he was about not knowing she raped a minor? I bet he only thought she had a supposedly consensual affair with or seduced a youngster, which was not much use in the divorce case, apparently. She had an affair with (or was raped by) an older (married?) guy, got pregnant and had to settle with boring, penny-pinching Mr Pike. I'd like to point out that we haven't heard about Jake's phone call. I bet it was his mum, and I wonder what they talked about.

Oh well, at least Will has experience dating someone in the closet. Travis' family is more likely to destroy his potential career, but why worry about this now. Chapter 87
I think Stef's yacht was in Australia most recently (when Will was with Connie). But the most likely answer is that Stef has boats near every continent in the world. Oh, and in Europe we don't worry about people leaving, only entering. So there is no problem with JP and Will going sailing. Anyway, they'll probably just sail around the Mediterranean and fly back to USA when they have sorted Travis' problems out.On 9/10/2023 at 10:57 PM, mmike1969 said:I’m actually more impressed with the fact Stef’s yacht was already on that side of the world since it would have taken weeks to even get to Europe from California
and no one is going to notice JP’s and Will’s passport showing they entered Europe and didn’t leave via authorized point of entry?
