  1. sometimes i stop and wonder at the ultimate majesty of the universe and i feel... insignificant. ... then i remember that i believe myself to be awesome and life goes on.
  2. because people travel they look cooler than sun bears, i want paddy to be half scottish and half chinese and i was hoping on no one noticing this one inconsistency?there is evidence the the Chinese discovered america before anyone else, so i'm using that to back me up

  5. well, all saturday it tipped it down. weather seems to affect my characters.
  6. awesome.
  7. i'm from an Army family. i asked the kids in my class to stand and i was proud that they did. while i feel something awful and terrible and wonderful when i visit the war graves, it's not how i choose to remember. i know no better way than to wear my grandfather's army smock with his regimental badge on the sleeve and remember.
  8. I think everyone has the right to potentially screw up their future career plans regardless of their gender. i mean, we tell the kids to be careful about what they put on facebook or twitter because nothing that goes on the internet can ever truly be deleted. people have lost their jobs over stuff they said on twitter (like the young persons police minister who had to quit cause of some rant she had on twitter when she was 16). it's his future. i feel for his boyfriend though, pressure or what?
  9. They waved the kids off after lunch on the Friday and watched the coaches until they were out of sight. Then it was time to clear down. Every piece of equipment, harnesses, helmets, high visibility jackets, carabiners and ropes had to be cleaned and checked, counted and stored away. They swept out every tent and moved them all roughly six feet to let the grass breathe. The tents were left with their doors open to air while the mess hall was cleaned out and washed down, all the tables given a tho

  11. aww, thank you.
  12. Paddy was half woken by a pillow to the face in the near dark before dawn, a light that the human eye wouldn’t detect creeping in through the window and the crack in the curtains. “Nae now…” Paddy grumbled, and tried to roll over. And there was the other problem with the beds, because they weren’t designed for two men, neither of whom were actually short, to be sleeping in together. They especially weren’t designed for one of those men to be trying to wrestle a blanket from the other. “Fuck’s
  13. Paddy shifted his weight, looking at his mate. It seemed impossible that thirty six hours ago, he hadn’t even known Troy existed, because he’d already spent so long looking at him as to memorise his features. He was sure if had actually possessed any drawing skills at all, he would have been able to recreate Troy in perfect detail; the long aquiline nose, the sharp ice blue eyes and the distinct shape of each freckle across his cheekbones were as familiar to Paddy as his own fur. It was a strang
  14. I actually prefer Bambi 2 to the original movie. better songs and exploring the relationship between a young boy and his distant father? I'm so there. It is however, the exception the rule

    Chapter 2

there's another Jameson Parker? Damn, i just named the twins after Irish whiskey brands...
  16. I heard this country song on the radio for the first time this morning and it made me think of all of you and though it's not a "gay" song, it's good, and there are some lyrics which seem rather appropriate for us. My two best bits: You're damned if you do, and you're damned if you don't, So you might as well just do whatever you want. So, make lots of noise, kiss lots of boys, Or kiss lots of girls, if that's something you're into. When the straight and narrow gets a little too straight, Roll up a joint, or don't. Just follow your arrow wherever it points, yeah. Follow your arrow wherever it points. and: Say what you think. Love who you love. Cause you just get so many trips round the sun. Yeah, you only, only live once

  18. I was seventeen, Cris was sixteen. i was friends with his ex (then partner) at college (high school to you people) and we hated each other. Then i was nineteen, he was eighteen, we were both single and i signed on to MSN to shut down my account and this bubble pops up. we had a chat about plastics and silicone casting and decided to meet for coffee (my degree is in wood, metals, ceramics and plastics, go figure). So we met for coffee and lunch three sundays in a row, i decided that i could really love a man shorter than me and then i kissed him senseless in the back of my dad's car. Apart from when i spent 84 days going around the world (the trip was booked before we re-met) we have never been apart. And then i was twenty six, and he was twenty five, and we got married on a sunny August afternoon with all our friends and family and danced by the lake with no shoes on. it was perfect.

  25. Over the next week, school settles into a nice routine. The major dramas are over. The freshmen are starting to learn their way around the school. The swim team have their first practice on the Friday afternoon, and it feels good to be back in the water. It’s even better to be in the easy company of guys in speedos. I don’t fancy my teammates, not really. I can appreciate that my friends are hot, I’m sure most people can, but I’d never go after any of them. Even if I wasn’t ninety five percent s
