  1. I prefer the Empire, too (opposite of Star Wars, dude), Ulfric's on a power trip and his followers are racist bastards. But I've played through the civil war quest line as a legionnaire multiple times before (have I mentioned that I've literally spent thousands of hours in this game?), and also in my head my character Trym's Stormcloak compatriots would be all suspicious of Rumarin, who's a high elf, and there would be tension with Rumarin having to remain a bit of a secret until Trym makes it far enough up in the ranks, and there's so much drama there that can go on in my head. Too good to pass up. Maybe I'll write the fanfic. Also have an idea for a young Breton thief who really ends up as Brynjolf's lad, if you know what I mean. There are mods that can make that happen...

    Michael

Michael has such a hero complex, he really wants to shoulder all Daniel's burdens. Learning not to do that may prove a bit of an adjustment, I think. And yeah, Liz is lovely, and Stephen is phenomenal. I'm in love with Stephen. I'm even more in love with Lewis. Thanks for reading, and for commenting!
  3. Ooh, love that one! Playing detective is always fun. I started myself a Nord Stormcloak soldier, all big and butch with a sweet demeanour and a heart of gold, lol! And then I had him meet Rumarin, who's my favourite character from the 3DNPC mod I mentioned, one of those super followers, and who's a hilariously sarcastic high elf who takes nothing seriously and is gay af. Think this is gonna be a fun one. I sense marriage on the horizon. This guy:
  4. That's a hell of a New Year's Day right there... I'm sorry. Wish there was something I could do.
  5. Oh my god, they switched back, holy shit! brb must read more.
  6. I'm sure you can do both!
  7. This I can definitely get behind.
  8. I'm really sorry if I crossed a line, it was completely unintentional and I just let myself get carried away...
  9. Yeah, I don't do resolutions either. It inevitably leads to self loathing.
  10. No reason we can't have long conversations regardless. PM me some time.
  11. Don't let it get you down. It's New Year's day, everyone's hungover. I made the mistake of posting new stuff right around Christmas. Hard not to get a little down when no one seems to read and no one comments, but it's really just cause they're all busy.
  12. Exactly. Telling someone to keep politics out of their art is most of the time actually telling them to keep politics I disagree with out of their art.
  13. Couldn't agree less. There has never been, nor will there ever be apolitical entertainment. People don't just stop having opinions when they create art. On the contrary, how you feel about something is integral to the process of telling a story, be it through writing, music, painting, or film. I haven't finished the new season yet. Have had too much on my mind. Really liked Jodie Whitaker, I think she's a fantastic Doctor, though I agree Chibnall's writing leaves something to be desired. Not cause he's political—sorry to break it to you, but Doctor Who has always been blatantly political—but because he's just not that good a show runner. With any luck, he'll get better, though. EDIT: Also, they didn't do a New Year Special because of 'snowflake preachy SJW' stuff. They did it because they were out of ideas for Christmas themed specials and wanted to do something new. Whomever told you that must have been some crazy conspiracy theorist, because there really is NO 'war on Christmas' in the UK. They don't even say Happy Holidays.
  14. Ugh, that sounds awful! I feel for you.
  15. Been a while since I’ve had one of those really good dreams... sigh...
  16. I remember them sometimes. Not all the time, though, and a lot of them are quickly forgotten. Know a few people who can do lucid dreaming, though. Sounds potentially fun and potentially terrifying...
  17. The heart’s for the hang in there, not the nightmare. Ugh, I had one the other day while taking a nap on the couch where I fell backwards into the water and someone put their hand over my mouth and pulled me under. Couldn’t breathe at first when I woke up. Really scary.
  18. Morning. New Year blues today. Probably just gonna game all day.
  19. Gotta say, that Dubai fireworks display made me think of Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and now I should probably get to bed before I decide that I should really watch that right now, at 6:30 in the morning on New Year's Day... Goodnight, DiC! Happy New Year!
  20. Yeah, if you're a 'public' persona of some sort I can imagine it'd be difficult to get in.
  21. My former flatmate works in Dubai. She’s gay, and she’s not the only queer person at her company either. But you can’t exactly be open about it. Inside the “bubble”, where all the foreigners and guest workers are, the religious police keep a low profile. They technically have jurisdiction, but they don’t go after foreigners and non-Muslims lightly. You know, to avoid international incidents.
  22. I got into the TV show White Collar a while back. One of the best things about that show is seeing Matt Bomer in fabulous vintage suits. Another is the so obviously totally instentional sexual tension between the two main characters. I mean, it’s not scripted, but it’s acted that way. Mostly because Matt Bomer can’t not flirt and I dare anyone not to flirt back.
  23. Happy New Year, tim! Welcome to 2019!
  24. I have such a thing for nice suits. Or, you know, men wearing them.
