  1. I want to see Star Trek. Because it's Star Trek, and also because Benedict Cumberbatch, who is yummy. In the House looked very interesting as well, I'd love to see that. Heard about This is the End a while back, and it sounds really funny, so I'd love to see that, too. And Much Ado About Nothing... Amy Acker, Alexis Denisof, Joss Whedon AND Shakespeare? Need I possibly say more? Pacific Rim looks interesting, I love sci-fi. Also, Charlie Hunnam, I remember him from the original UK Queer as Folk! <3 Girl Most Likely maybe, just because Darren Criss. Elysium looks cool. As for The World's End, I saw Martin Freeman and am already sold, because I love that man and everything he does. Not on the list, of course, as they're already out, but I intend to see Iron Man 3, and I might go see Cloud Atlas tomorrow or the next day. I'm reading the book, which is quite amazing.
  2. CHAPTER SEVEN My Sweet Prince God, I am so bored! Nick read the text with a small smile. Dave was still grounded, and would be for another couple of days, as punishment for landing himself in detention. As a result, the two of them hadn’t yet had an opportunity to hang out, but Dave had texted him the moment he got home from the detention, and kept doing so several times a day since then. Nick texted him back. Aww, poor thing! Knee still not well enough for football either?
  3. Yay! Thank you! Next chapter will be up later today.
  4. Oh, wow, must try to find that! I'm still waiting for the promised live-action Evangelion, myself... I'm so into that kind of thing it's not even funny. I watched the first couple of episodes of Sakamichi no Apollon last night. If you like the whole discovering music as a way of life thing in it, you might enjoy Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad, if you haven't seen it already. Replace jazz with rock and the 60s with right now, and you're looking at a very similar story. I recommend watching it in English, if for no other reason than that there are some characters that are meant to speak English in the original and while some of them do so quite well, others are just embarrassing to listen to. Also, all the English song lyrics are much better in the dub. Someone should make a fan mix of the dialogue, where all the American characters get voices from the dub, and all the songs are dubbed.
  5. Hi, Jay! I'm pretty new around here, too. My brother studies psychology at the University of Queensland, in Brisbane. He's graduating this summer (well, winter for you, I guess, or what passes for it, I understand it's pretty hot over there). Wish I'd had time (read: money) to visit while he's been there, but my parents did go last year. From the pictures, Queensland appears to be fairly stunning.
  6. Yeah, it is, FishWings. For NaNoWriMo it's 50,000 words in a month. For Camp NaNoWriMo you get to set your own limit, though. I set mine to 50,000 anyway, and did 53k, myself.
  7. Thank you, leshwar! And yeah, pretty much, Zombie.
  8. I just read up on Sakamichi no Apollon and, OMG, Yoko Kanno made the music!!! I must, simply must, see this! Thank you! Yay! Friend! I loved the Rurouni Kenshin OVAs, the Samurai X things? Gorgeous animation and, oh my goodness, the music! I used one of the melodies from that thing when we did a 9/11 physical theatre thing for drama class back in secondary school, because it was literally the saddest piece of music I could think of.
  9. Thank you! And this is NaNoWriMo and this is Camp NaNoWriMo.
  10. The next chapter will be posted tomorrow. Thank you so much for taking the time to read and review all this! You're lovely! <3
  11. Dave is, for all his flaws, a fairly well-adjusted and, at times, painfully rational and analytical individual.
  12. Craig is quite horrible. And poor Dave, can't be easy to have feelings that you don't really understand...
  13. I think Linda's true intentions were pretty clear to everyone. Everyone but Nick, that is. Poor thing. He just wanted to feel normal...
  14. It's usually the little things, isn't it? First impressions, tiny gestures, that determine our relationships with the people around us. A bad first impression can easily break a relationship. Thanks for reading! <3
  15. Yay! Thank you!
  16. I know a little about a lot, and then there are some things that I know a lot about, so I have a tendency to lecture when people ask me about them. I can go on for ten minutes about linguistics or political ideologies, or musical theory. I know to stop talking when people start leaving.
  17. CHAPTER SIX Teenage Angst Dave picked at his chips with his fork, not really feeling hungry. Once again, it had been more than a week since he had last spoken to Nick, and he found that he, in a very odd way, missed him. They’d had a good thing going, he thought. The fighting, the sparring, it had been his favourite pastime. It had given him something to look forward to. Lately, he just felt apathetic and sort of irritated all the time. Why did Nick have to go and ruin everythi
  18. Poor Dave, still thinks he's straight. And, like I told Circle, you'll find out what happened to the jacket in chapter 8, so stay tuned! Lol.
  19. Submitting the next chapter in a minute. This one is well over 3000 words, I promise. Thank you!
  20. Extremely flattered, but sadly not single. Will friends do? I have seen some Hetalia, a few years ago, as it was mentioned in a discussion thread for Scandinavia and the World, but I didn't really get into it. Probably should, though, it seems very cute.

    Pretty Boys

Thank you so much! I'll see what I can do.
  22. Waaay ahead of you, friend. I have read all the season 8 and season 9 comics, all the Spike comics (because, Spike, OMG!), most of Angel: After the Fall and Angel & Faith as well. I obsess. I'm a huge nerd.
  23. I've read Death Note. The manga's good. Never watched the anime, but friends tell me it's excellent.
  24. I've been meaning to do NaNoWriMo for years, but I never got around to it. November always seems to be a bad month for me. So when I heard about Camp NaNoWriMo this year, I decided this was my chance. So, in April, I finished and rewrote Nemesis. And I won! I'm sort of giddy and very pleased with myself right now.
