@Anton_Cloche I thought about using that cheesey line, but it was an instance where I felt humor might not be the best idea. Although I may have shown one or two meetings with the CIA, more went into planning the operation than we are aware of. Starting with them having a 'driver' who could help protect them. Inside the embassy though, the crowd would have acted as a shield. Russians take their ballet and vodka seriously and would not want an "incident" splashed on the news the next day. Seven days (six now) will pass faster than you think.

I have a feeling as often as Brett drilled into CJ's head if he pulled a gun on someone he better be ready to shoot and kill, not making idle threats was probably part of the lessons. I truly believe CJ could kill someone if he felt they were a threat to his family. While most of us will never know the feeling, it must be liberating not to have to work for a living. Those bank accounts of his give him options and if he wants it, clout. I forgot about Simmone and Trixie! I don't think I ever had them recount their experience. I doubt very much they met with one of the dancers while he was naked.

@scrubber6620 One problem here is the State Department has no jurisdiction. They can't expel anyone from Mexico. Cox's involvement, Domogarov's future, and any possible replacement will be discussed in coming chapters.

Using sex as a tool in spycraft's nothing new. Although it's Russia we're dealing with and not the USSR, I fear a lot of the old methods are still being used. The ambassador may not have any say in whatever happens to Domogarov.

Alas, my control over time's not what it used to. I tried to make it Friday again today, but I'm stuck on Saturday. Seems we're stuck with the same stupid order of days.

Thanks! I don't want to give away Domogarov's intentions and approach. That's coming up in about 4 chapters. Part of the buildup has been me trying to string antagonists out over multiple chapters instead of disposing of them quickly as I have in the past. I keep experimenting with my writing and I'm glad it worked. As for Ritch, at this point in time, December 2021, he's in his second year at the Academy. Give him a couple more and put him in an F16 or something and he'll take out the entire Russian embassy if he has to.

I was going to say the bride wears the pants during wedding planning sessions, but that seemed inappropriate when we're talking about men wearing skirts.

I want to showcase CJ's ability to think on his feet even more. While there are times when proper plans can produce what he wants, there will be others when he'll have to act quickly. Maturity will hopefully let him know when to shoot and when to ask questions.

I'm certain that's what CJ meant when he mentioned the silver spoons. Or they could have been white gold for all I know. I've been to two weddings in my life where vodka bottles frozen in ice blocks and caviar were featured. I remember eating the eggs, I particularly remember putting away a lot of vodka, but I can't recall what I used to spoon caviar onto whatever bread or cracker it was I chose to shovel in my mouth.

I'm certain as soon as CJ walked away from the ambassador, the Russian called aides. Ambassadors are not always clued in to what the spies posted to the embassy are doing. Not sure what the situation's like in this case, but I'm interested in what Yevgeny, and the ambassador, will do nect.

Growing up in South Florida, I've seen a lot of old mansions sold, bought, often razed, and sometimes converted into private clubs. Mar-A-Lago was in the news down here frequently. I think the property that attracted even more attention (before Trump's election) was the Versace Mansion in South Beach.

Interesting... In an upcoming chapter, someone's less than complimentary about Brett and Cesar and compares CJ to them. Owen tells the idiot he had paid CJ a compliment. Ooops almost forgot about having another loser in the story. You'll recognize him when he shows up. LOL

Good. I've done my job. As I mentioned in another comment, I've tried to keep some things (he's feisty) while showing growth (he'll think before pulling the trigger.) At 24 Cj's a much more mature young man.

Maybe Brett and Cesar will buy Mar-A-Lago out of bankruptcy one day. There'll be an uproar when they encourage minorities to apply for membership.

THANK YOU! As i've already mentioned, I was worried about this chapter. That buildup was a pain to write. I wanted to set the stasge of an evening gal and slowly reveal what was hiding behind the curtain. (a naked ballet dancer?) Vail will be fun. I recycle some sections from the same vacation in Cadet, and add some new interesting segments not previously covered. Keep an eye out for the house news and a baby.

Okay, here's a spoiler. Over the next few years, CJ, CJ and Owen, CJ,Owen, and Liebe, and the 3 of them and the twins, are frequently featured on magazine covers. CJ and Owen also do several fashion related shoots (GQ, details, Vogue, etc). Owen negotiates for them to receive anythinging they're photographed in. CJ refuses to model for anyone but Tom Ford and Owen demands Brioni. Have I mentioned the Feast with the Beast black tie event at the National Zoo? Or the Met Gala in New York? I think they'll definitely be the beautiful power couple.

The 'what happened in Mexico' question? Is that a thing? Did something happen in Mexico I'm not aware of? Another earthquake? Another shootout? Another corrupt politician? I have sooo many questions!
