I like surprising readers now and then.

Young men can be such hot heads. And often, they end up hurting themselves.

“How come you still have this clunker, Grandpa?” Dante and I sat in the back with Grandpa while Marco occupied the front passenger seat. The partition between the seating areas of the ancient Lincoln Continental limousine remained down. “You could get a new SUV and have it modified so it’s bulletproof too.” “Why waste money when this one’s still in good shape?” The old man spoke the truth; the mid-seventies gas-guzzler was always spotless, and the engine was meticulously maintained. “It’s on
  4. How old now? Like 2?
  5. One of my favorite GA authors. I've had the pleasure of beta reading for Parker and he's been generous in allowing me to borrow a couple of his characters for my stories. I look forward to working with him in the future and to his next novel. Write, Parker, write.
  6. @LillyLee Kitt and Gary got it. You've been missing. How's the kid?

@frosenblum One's in the works. Starring the dads, it revolves around one location mentioned but not visited in the series.

Yes. Hopefully this summer. Since that story's a series of vignettes, there'll never be an end to it. I can keep the MC visiting places for a long time. LOL The next stop for him would be New Orleans and it would be a bit longer than the other ones. I'd like to use it as as an ode to the city, food, culture, and people. After Nola, the MC's meant to return to Key West for a while before embarking on another trip.

Born out of one of the Friday prompts @comicfan post on Fridays, five years later it's gone from 800 words to nearly 10 times that. The nearby gym's on my schedule for revision and expansion later this year. Considering how big a role both locations have played in the life of a certain character, I thought they deserved a little TLC.

Once again, not me. I've never missed a posting day so far.

The wait between the first two chapters was a week. That's pretty standard for serialized work. Waiting to read until a story's comple is acceptable and common. Usually out of fear the author will abandon the work. That's not happening with me. Not ever. Unless I drop dead and my editor could always finish posting.

I don't recall you doing so! But I do recall enjoying your comments. Just did that with some older ones. A couple of readers are binge reading a certain series of mine and I end up peeking at a chapter here and there. You made good points in the chapter discussing a prenuptial agreement.

I know, right? Usually it takes a death, a wedding, or a birth to get these many reactions. Or in my case, a character on either side of gun ownership issues.

Thanks for understanding! I figure there are plenty of other stories posted on GA daily that should keep readers busy while I take my time posting.

Et tu, Lion? It was all those complaints about too much stuff and too many characters per chapter that did me in.

@C James and @Mann Ramblings are the cliffie masters. I'm just a pup.

I'm amazed at the reception this story's enjoying. Haven't written it yet, but I plan a companion piece about a gym owner. Let's hope Colt does as well as Tony.

Last time it was from point A to point B in a flash. This time we take the scenic route.

Next chapter Tony has to deal with a couple of non-Italians. That in itself makes me nervous. Didn't Don Corleone say he was taking the family out of illegal enterprises. We all know how that turned out.

Damn! Loud laughter led to a coughing fit here. Short story, Jeffrey, only 4 chapters and a microscopic epilogue. Although not in word count, we're at the halfway point chapter-wise. If I was ever going to use a cliffhanger, which of course I wouldn't, this would be the perfect spot.

Remember when there were complaints about my chapters including too much? Ahh, bygone days. The Goldilocks word count's an elusive target. Let's see how next month's story fares.

I realize I did. Goodnight, My Angel posted weekly for six months and Singer for three months twice a week. By the end of GMA I was starting to feel a little burned out. My solution was to write a bunch of short stories to give CJ a break and to explore some of the other interesting characters I've created. Chipper was the first one and Brad's coming up next month. PRIME's a short story the same as New Year's Day. Ranger's novella length, about 35k words over 13 chapters. I think I'll continue to alternate 2 shorts and 1 long the rest of the year. (I wonder what 2 short 1 long means in Morse Code LOL)
