What a day from hell...
1) Mid morning a student said he is r feeling well. After recess he went to the bathroom and threw up among other symptoms... He's the second one in 2 days to have symptoms of stomach flu. I had to call his parents to pick him up. As I'm on the 2nd floor I had to leave the rest of my students alone (a colleague was keeping an eye from afar but we have 2 empty rooms between us) to bring him down to the front door.
2) After lunch a colleague who had a meeting asked me to lend her 6 students to accompanied some of hers who were dispatched in the other classes during her meeting. When I had all my 20 students + the 3 first graders in my classroom one of the girl who had accompanied them asked to used the bathroom as she hadn't had time. I send her with another girl. She fell slipt and twisted her ankle in the stairs... *Deep breath* more fear then harm but I called her mom who came to picked her up. Same as in the morning I had to leave all the rest of the class + the 3 youngers alone... The mom send a text later saying she had gone to the ER and all was fine, just a bruise on top of the feet and a light twist.
3) At 3.30pm we had PE in the gym. As I was delimitating the space and talking about what we would do most students were standing up instead of sitting on the bench. 2 girls (one tiny and the other one really tall, she has 2 head above me, she makes me think of a great dane, always excited and not controlling her strength) ran like crazy... Some around them got pushed around, one girl got hit on the forehead and the tiny one of the 2 tripped on the taller's feet and went frying around landing half on the bench and half on a boy who has autistic troubles and who started to cry in a panic...
I was seriously at the end of my patients after all those events I resist rolling in a ball in a corner... 🫠
