I have a science fantasy I am halfway through writing, where the magic is controlled by hyper advanced AI manipulating things on the quantum level... so I think, in my opinion science that is so advanced it is percieved as magic fits that category And no, Utopia does not have to contain humans, take the CLASSIC Hyperion books as a good example of it.

I'll admit, the way to my heart is a good apple pie... best Apple pie I have ever had was Via Rail, overnight Montreal to New Brunswick circa 1990. I remember it... my first time ever trying cinnamon in an apple pie... it blew my mind...

They're about, mentioned in the next Buckshot book... they're a bit of an opportunist group... not exactly the most benevolent of families and have a reputation. So I avoid referencing them, real world families known for their litigious nature.... yep best to avoid anything more than a nod in their reptilian direction

It's a poignant reminder that we don't have codified rights here, and that our government over here revokes them at a whim. One thing I miss about Canada, and respect about the United States, your rights are enshrined, ours are Privileges that can, and often are, dismissed. They have just instituted, for example, a system that logs (via the street cameras) where your car goes, journeys start to finish, and an AI decides if you might be doing something illegal. No vote on this, no choice by the public, this has just been done. And of course this data is sold to companies for "research" purposes. *ahem* Civil liberties rant over
