Having three girlfriends at once isn't cheap. In the first chapter we get flashes of Charlie's life style... asked by his mates if he can get them into clubs, his night clubbing in Birmingham. His BMW. Dude has a lifestyle, and you borrow cash from the wrong person... problems.

Ellis isn't a flashy Demon, he believes in many low level evils that sustain him. The idea is that the misery the demon creates feeds their power. So I treated it like long cons and short cons... both can make money, just how hard you work at it. For Ellis, he works hard and thus his power works out greater than the lazy and fat big and showy demons.
