I worked in this monestary as a professor, it was actually where I earned my official academic title. I was working for the Cambodian government and running a nationwide English program. It was... beautiful, challenging and rewarding work. When given the Ancient East as my challenge prompt I thought, write what you know. So... this.

Yes, he lost control there, Andrew's grief is very different to Will's. Will gains control from it, Andrew slips. But as Doc observed, Andrew is the weapon that Hale built for Abernathy to destroy Will, in the end that weapon destroyed Abernathy. It's also a clue to the conditioning that Hale was trying to build, the real reason for the supposed Aphasia, and the nature of what's been done to Andrew. I wasn't expecting someone to see right through it so fast, but @drpaladin is a perceptive old G.O.A.T.

Will just needs a chance to think, the moves he's played so far have been audacious, cunning, and pulled from seemingly nowhere (usually after long debates with old friends of mine, lots of Baileys in my coffee and a decided amount of 'What would I do if I were him' ) I have a gambit left, And two days to pull it off. It required rewriting much of the ending of the book... that's THREE different endings for this thing so far... about 10000 words of cut chapters, and editing. I'll post some favourites at another point, as they just no longer fit the narrative, but are too good to just throw away. I am also realizing that the Coyote books are definitely separate now, but given they're written more like it anyway it's all right.
