    Chapter 10

Chapter 10: The Devil's Bargain The handcuffs were not tight. That was the first thing Elias Sawyer noticed, a detail that was somehow more insulting than brutality would have been. They were precision-engineered, the steel smooth and cool against his skin, clicking shut with a sound like a vault door sealing. They didn't pinch or chafe; they simply removed his agency with absolute, terrifying efficiency. He was no longer a man; he was a problem to be transported. Mr. White led the wa

    Chapter 9

I just finished book 2. Deed I think I did an all right job of it. But I need a break from Cowboys for a bit. I loved writing these two, but I have ideas... and new directions... something Psychological, maybe a bit horror... or at least thrillingly horrible.

Seth Green, and I think so.

    Chapter 6

he's less cartoony than in the more James Bond style Coyote books, which are a bit more... theatrical and over the top. I enjoy Enrico. He's analytical, merciless to his enemies, and isn't afraid to punch above his weight. And to the CIA and the Order, designed to fight traditional spy agencies with their rules and their red tape. Enrico is a criminal, outside of their sphere of influence, off of their radar, and is probably going to rob them all blind while leaving them naked, exposed, and shivering in the cold... all because they dragged him North in winter... I mean, there are manners. Why not be civilized and do things in the warmth.

    Chapter 6

Enrico has rules, his own sense of honour and morality. One of those is you don't hurt kids. Which is why he's positioned his best asset to defend Carter's while Carter can't.

    Chapter 6

yes. John Stuart Mill argued that while war is ugly, a "decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks nothing worth a war, is worse" Will will stand to account, like the man he is, when his nation and Andrew are safe. And not before.

    Chapter 6

Dear gods, while I was a very pretty boy in my youth... my taste in club gear was... Man, there is one picture of me rocking out on the hood of an old school humvee at a street party at pride, my Wil performing out on stage just behind me... and most of what I am wearing would scandalize little old ladies... errmm let's not share those....

    Chapter 6

The conventional politeness has gone out of the window. And Andrew has his own friends who care what happens to him.

  12. Chapter Six Friday, December 6th, 2019 WORLD END: T-minus 96 days, 12 hours, and 00 minutes. Plattsburgh Airfield, New York State. Hangar 7. The air inside the private hangar was brutal—a cold, metallic chill drawn in by the massive cargo door that stood ajar. The space smelled of cold concrete, stale jet fuel, and the faint, unwelcome scent of ozone from heavy machinery. In the center of the vast, echoing space, two planes sat in stark contrast. On the left,

Jean Levesque would like to bet you a dollar that Theo's not done yet.

    Chapter 9

I think it is more psychological at this point. They're desperate, feeling trapped, and after Theo got shot, Sawyer isn't thinking straight. If he were, he'd never have surrendered himself. Flawed and inexperience, under pressure and desperate. Theo was probably the one thinking clearest out of the two, and he was the one who was shot.

    Chapter 9

To explain the Hotchkiss, it's the first real WWI era rifle, it is a generational leap in technology over most of the weapons of the era. Utterly relentless, a massive .45- 70 Gvt round, and it could put five of them down range at a rate that was unmatched until the US Army started bringing in the Sringfield 1892, which was based on the Krag–Jørgensen. In basic terms, Theo's got his hands on the equivalent of a WWI sniper rifle thirty years ahead of it's time.

    Chapter 9

Chapter 9: A Calculated Wound The retreat was not a flight; it was a hemorrhage, a slow bleeding out of hope and strength into the dust of the broken country. The moon, a cold, sharp sliver of bone, cast long, distorted shadows that seemed to clutch at the horses' legs. They moved as a single, wounded organism; each man lost in the private hell of his own exhaustion. The air was still and cool now, a mockery after the day's furnace-blast, and it carried the sounds of their passage wit
