  1. Lancaster House, St James's, London, United Kingdom The air in the private meeting room at Lancaster House was a heavy, suffocating blanket of barely contained fury. Sunlight, weak and diffused through the tall windows, did little to lighten the mood, merely illuminating the dust motes dancing in the strained silence. Untouched cups of tea and coffee sat on the polished mahogany, mirroring the untouched pleasantries that had long since evaporated. At the head of the table Will was sit

    Chapter 9

Faraday cages are fallable as long as people are. They are, essentially, a box. What you put inside the box is cut off from outside signals. Wifi, radio, etc. They are deadzones to anything outside them. So when Reed's laptop went inside one, no wifi signal triggered the program to go active. When she left the cage, the laptop detected a wifi signal again, and that was the condition for it to send it's data, and wipe the program. The failure in security was they allowed her to take her laptop inside and then bring it back out again.

    Chapter 9

Sorry I disappointed you. But there is a story here, and stories must involve conflict and change. That may be difficult, but there is a bond of trust between a reader and a writer, a bond of trust that says that I know my characters. And if you think Matt will let something as silly as this stop him from being his trueself, or that I would allow that to happen... then so be it. For the rest, though, that read on and know the rest of the story... They know that nothing will hold him back from protecting the people he loves. Oh and I wrote all of this story, thanks.

That has to be one of the hardest things about this. It's too easy to fall into the computer magic realm. I was sitting there thinking how would I get or use a Faraday cage against itself. Seemed logical that since it blocks Wifi signals, then that would be a trigger... rest went through logic. I was tempted to use a key logger, but that seemed impractical and wouldn't get the data that was needed. And yes Carter's Pandemic might be an interesting read/writing experience if I wanted to dive into the high tech espionage world of the modern.
  6. Mine, by the way, is St. Gabrlel Possenti. Patron saint claimed by Red Necks for Handguns, and standing their ground... His reality would melt their brains, Gay, often found in compromising situations with other Italian lads in barns, ran to the Church to hide in that era when that's all an out Gay kid could do to avoid being lynched. Wrestled endlessly with his affections for other boys. Died young and "Pure" the church claimed after burning all his journals and letters to ensure the truth never got out. Oh and I take the Mustang crack personnally! Great writing, it is evolving as a story and I am liking Ryan more and more. Layers, onions... and depth.

As promised, one Matthew "Edward" Elias, and he's getting his Darien back. Thank you very much, screw you mechanical nightmare machine. Been waiting for his return since the last book, and all you who doubted him, and thought Matty was going to roll over and let something as silly as a memory wipe take that away from him

Lex Talionis – Yeji-Sola System “You will be interested to learn,” Lex stated, walking around the black metal table as it rotated away from electrodes, turning and folding flat, laying the quivering Highlord for a brief respite from the unending pain, “That the Diffusion Tensor Imaging scan of your neural cortex shows that your neurological condition is a direct result of a loss of dopaminergic neurons,” the hologram pointed to an area of the Highlord’s head, moving back a little as he demo

Ah over used repetitions and Im- words, my old enemies. When I get into a flow I am just writing, and this is a first draft, pre editor smacking around my head. So if you find there are too many Impractically Impressive Impositions of Impeccable Impact words, just accept that it is an addiction, and I am getting help.
  10. Canada House, Trafalgar Square, London, United Kingdom The grand, polished hallways of Canada House, typically bustling with the quiet hum of diplomatic activity, held a different kind of tension. Beneath the ornate ceilings and alongside portraits of past Canadian dignitaries, a palpable current of unease rippled through the staff. Today wasn't just another set of high-level defence talks with the British Ministry of Defence; it was a collision of worlds. Lachlan Sinclair arrived with a

dear Gods, I was not expecting that. Hah, 100% fluke on my part selecting that weapon. I was suggested two options by a military friend, and I went with the more portable of the two.
  14. You know us writers, 9/10ths crazy 100% caffeinated and mixed with a side order of chapter plans that look like a demented CSIS murder board... But it's why we're loved by our people, they keep us together when we're out of our minds mid book.
  15. Us coffee drinkers need to stick together... too much tea out there. Write man, believe me I have the same thing going on right now. Too many ideas, only so fast I can type.

The nervous anticipation rippled through the audience as they eagerly awaited the performance to begin. High in a box set apart for visiting dignitaries, Rikard sat tapping a programme against the upper thigh of his tuxedo trousers. Indeed, it may be. Among so many other literal and figurative uses that make it a near perfect title for the book. Next few chapters should draw Will deeper into the story.

    Chapter 8

Writing this, I am intrigued by Enrico. Unlike Johnson in the previous book, Enrico is far more complex and is giving me a rich character to work with. His bi-sexuality, and fluidity when it comes to that side of him is also engaging for my writing of him.
  23. Canal Street, Manchester, United Kingdom The kaleidoscope of Canal Street at night pulsed with a fierce, defiant energy. Neon signs bled into the damp pavement, reflecting off puddles left by an earlier shower. Laughter, music, and the low thrum of conversation spilled from every open doorway, creating a vibrant, almost overwhelming sensory flood. Couples walked hand-in-hand, groups clustered around outdoor tables, their faces illuminated by phone screens or the glow of string lights. It wa
