You know you are appreciated, no one else gets my sense of humour quite like you do

Canada has a long history of... diplomatic tension. I remember one round occoured after the Iranian state hanged two 13-14 boys who were caught for being gay. Canada went apoplectic at them (Rightly so.) Canada has always called Iran on it's track record of human rights, Iran has always loathed Canada for it. The fact that Will allowed a "I can't believe it's not a diplomat" into his office, to sit and stare at him and say nothing, would amuse the hell out of them. Which is what Will was counting on to sell it to the US.

Will, punching up as he always has.

"Finn - f-ing- Grady...." you can hear Peter yelling from space! Figured I needed to put the Grady's in there somewhere, even if they are Peter's Cousins (tries to do the math's) a few times removed, with maybe a few other aunt's cousin's boyfriend's roommates thrown in there for good measure. And we all know Gingers are the best!

DEFCON 2, or "Fast Pace," is the second-highest U.S. military alert level, meaning a major conflict, potentially nuclear, is imminent, with armed forces ready to deploy and engage within six hours, just one step below maximum readiness (DEFCON 1). It signifies a critical escalation where the U.S. is poised for war, as seen during the Cuban Missile Crisis, the closest the world came to nuclear war.

Chapter Twelve Wednesday, December 18th, 2019 WORLD END: T-minus 84 days, 11 hours, and 00 minutes. The Prime Minister’s Office, Langevin Block, Ottawa. The anteroom to the Prime Minister’s Office was designed to intimidate. It was a space of high ceilings, heavy velvet drapes, and the crushing silence of state power. United States Ambassador David White was not easily intimidated. He was a political appointee, a former hedge fund manager from Connecticut who w

That is if Steve isn't distracting our little Kenny with nocturnal activities that his Mother wouldn't approve of... Steve's mom would just throw a box of condoms at them and tell them to keep it down.

Well there's more than one kind of prejudice going on in that courtroom, and Assumptions lead to mistakes as Perry Mason used to say.

Completely removes Stirling (the Pinkerton's Lawyer/prosecutor) ability to cross examine, Theo himself isn't under oath, doesn't have to say a word, and can't perjure himself, which was definitely Rourke's plan.

depends on the judge, they can object, of course. But it's down to the judge, who has allowed it, and now the hands of the jury who will hear it.

Slander, your case, your evidence, and your testimony. Theo again, proving why he's the bravest man in the room

# Chapter 15: The Shadow of the Rope Denver was not a city of wood and canvas like Silver Creek; it was a city of stone and judgment, built to proclaim the permanence of law and the finality of its consequences. It sprawled on the high plains like a permanent scar on the land, a relentless grid of imposing granite edifices and wide, paved streets that seemed designed to dwarf the individual, to grind the frontier's chaotic spirit under the heel of established order. The air was thin,

Right have gotten the Brian/Alex (chapter one) Kenny/Steve (chapter two) Christmas thingy done this morning. Questionable moments with a Kangaroo thrown in for good measure.

One of the great things about snow was that it insulated the roof. Kept us warm.

Tell me about it, I am having one of those mornings as well. And I don't have a project at the moment... which is aggravating for me. If I am not writing, I kid of float. (And trust me the drek I wrote yesterday about a Borstal in Norfolk set in 1955... was not worth the space on my Hard Drive....) for every good one I put out, there are dozens are bad ones that lurk in the depths of the drive, that really need to be stuffed in a cage and forgotten (Man it was Baaaaaaaaaaaaaad. what was I thinking... ) Here's the secret to how I write so fast, I do a pair of chapters each day. But often I go down into the archive which is vast and :: shudders :: and see if there is something I can mine. I keep everything. Watchers was one of these projects that I had inspiration to go and fix... maybe I will start Watcher's III.... was planning on after Christmas... This is 3am Topher, the slightly neurotic one who needs more coffee...

This chapter is one of the oldest of all three books. And one of the most worked on. Andrew's perspective of a very key event in their lives.

Chapter Eleven WORLD END: ERROR UNKOWN Unknown 2004, Winter I think The cold was the first thing Andrew Highmore registered, a cruel, immediate physical presence. It was the icy bite of November air combined with a deep, marrow-deep chill of raw fear. He shot awake, body rigid, a ragged, strangled gasp tearing from his throat. For a sickening, disoriented moment, he wasn’t in a cell; he was trapped once more in the cramped back seat of his Mustang… Not his classic, this was the
