I very much see Kenny snapping at some point and driving Steve off bundled up in the back of his volvo, parking in the middle of the car wash and endjoying Sudtopia.

    Chapter 22

  12. Twenty-two Kenny’s fear was not the wide-eyed, panicked terror of a boy about to get caught; it was the specific, paralyzing terror of a cat on the ceiling. He was in the Madam Chao’s storage room lair, perched precariously on a high shelf stacked with boxes of lavender-scented cuticle oil, his knees drawn up to his chest, arms wrapped around his shivering half undressed and rather annoyed that his Steve-time had once again been intruded upon. Steve, stripped down to a tight, bla

    Chapter 20

Actually Doc, you have got me thinking now, and it could create a bloody good scene... I mean I am on chapter 30 of the NEXT book.... but I could go back and work the scene in to this one.... ooooo mmmmm must do it in a way that doesn't break everything. (had to deal with an instance of that yesterday... I re-wrote giant swathes of Carter's Run (the next book) because of a giant plot hole I had accidentally created. >.< I can be a muppet some times... These books are easily the most complex ones I have ever written. And as it is going, the battle between Abernathy and Andrew is easily the most compelling. Enrico was a threat, but let's face it, he was a bit of a softie. Abernathy is fire, conviction, and an unwavering threat. It's funny, the man's greatest fear is a wedding ring on another man's finger and what it represents.

    Chapter 20

I'll be sure to include that in "Doc's post mortem of the PPT's career" I think, in my assessment, they got too familiar, the rink is one of those universal Canadian safe spaces. The central hub of life in a small Canadian town. defenses that should never have been dropped were lowered by the familiarity of it all. A fundamental mistake that ended up costing every single person involved. And yet, as it's established that the PM doesn't exactly give a crap about Will's actual health, and more about containing the threat to his leadership, fitting that he would leave them in place. After all a bullet would solve all of his Carter problems.

    Chapter 20

The failure of Will's PPT makes me wonder if that's Sarah as well. They repeatedly show... poor judgement to the point of it being negligent. Deliberate Sabotage is more probably. I might have to tighten that up in later chapters. There needs to be a reason. Because @drpaladin is right, the PPT guarding Will should never have let him out of their sight. (It's true three Sprogs, Peter, and Will was a bit much for the three man PPT team, they should never have left Will (their P1) alone at any point. Might have Hickey's boss have a strong word about competency. Might just call him Doc for giggles.

    Chapter 20

It's when Silas starts to realize that he isn't fighting Will, but fighting Andrew that things get really interesting. Because, as we have established over Fortress, Recourse, Breach and now Order, Andrew's no White Knight, he's down in the mud, sword covered in blood, doing what must be done so that Will can do what he does.

    Chapter 20

West's smarter, I think, than 99% of the people around him (Peter included) give him credit for, and THANK gods for that. He does get his MVP trophy a few time through these books.

  20. Chapter Twenty WORLD END: T-minus 155 days, 4 hours, and 30 minutes 7 Rideau Gate, Ottawa, Ontario The sitting room in the North Wing was a place of impossible comfort: plush velvet chairs, a carved stone fireplace, and tall windows that filtered the pale morning light onto an antique Persian rug. It was a space designed to welcome powerful guests, but currently, it was the site of an emotional collision. Peter sat forward on the sofa; his hands clasped so tightly his k

To explain the @Paladin Brian/Giraffe Daddy joke. Paladin pointed out something in the text of one of the chapters a few chapters back, and as a reward I gave him a cameo... which somehow has spiraled into our boy Brian! There's always one character that just jumps up and down and goes Oooooo me me me!

And quite probably the ONLY person Lydia has shown any respect for in the entire book based on that fact alone.
