I recommend watching Kronkite at his height. An international Standard we should hold all of our News to. Today's news is Info-tainment. It's there for ad revenue generation, and stokes the pot to raise veiwership. The dark reality is that news has been killed stone dead by these practices. And we have no way to tell the difference. I feel there needs to be a firm definition of what qualifies as NEWS and what does not. Standards need to be set.

Canadian Minority Government politics is wild, and thrilling. I love a good Minority Government situation. For those who aren't aware. A minority government doesn't have the vote share to outright control the House. With four parties, suppose this: Liberals have : 42% The conservatives: 30% The NDP: 21% The Bloc: 7% meaning even though the Liberals hold the most votes, and the right to form government, the Conservatives AND AN alliance with the other parties could control the voting direction of the house, and thus force the government to do things it does not want to. Or block important things like the Budget. Let's suppose this. The Budget is due, and posted. The liberals only get 42% of the vote, BUT the three other parties vote NO: 58% The budget fails. This is a crucial vote meaning that once it fails a Vote of No Confidence can be called in the government (Look at the Liberals, they can't do their jobs, let's get'em!) With 58% of the vote, the other parties can force an election and the resignation of the Prime Minister. (this is all part of the Canadian checks and balances system... it's *similar* to a recall election) I hope that helps people understand the stakes.

A fight between the PM and Will only sows more chaos. Leveraging Jean pushing the Prime Minister's paranoia up to 11. While Silas positions. Here is a theory (not saying it is the plan, just a possible one) The PM is pushed to the thin ice. Will is pressured into a leadership challenge. In-fighting fractures the government, and Bob Hesston as the new Conservative leader calls a Vote of confidence over the upcoming Queen's Speech (a mandatory one) and with a split and chaotic Liberal party it will fail, causing the government to topple, and for an election to be called. Again chaos in the Liberal Party gives the Conservatives the win. Conservatives = a closer alignment with Washington, and the Order values. Silas wins. The question is, will Will fall into such a trap? Will Bob Hesston go along for it? And is the PM dumb enough to jump up and down on the thin ice? If not, then Silas can always push.... harder.

All very good points. But Silas has other ways to get what he wants. And he doesn't take betrayal well.
