    Chapter 10

Tomorrows fun, Will is baiting the Democrats into fighting the Article Four question before the courts for him, while he positions his own pieces on the board.

    Chapter 10

writing two chapters a day, like clockwork. It gives me some kind of purpose, I'd be bored out of my mind if I didn't work. I may be too broken for more, but these old bones are going to get something done with my days that means something. I'm going to keep putting the work in, got a top spot to covet and hit in a year.

    Chapter 10

you are right there, he wants to go, but he can't anymore. The most he can do is sit in the Acheron and lead. Tough moment for leaders who hit that level, the one where their battle goes from the field, to maps and war rooms.

    Chapter 10

Good morning, I overslept, my apologies.
  6. CHAPTER TEN: THE WOLF AND THE LEVIATHAN Location: Bridge of HMCS Halifax (FFH 330). The Grand Banks. International Waters. Time: Late May 2023. 08:00 Local Time. Status: Holding the Line. The North Atlantic was a canvas of slate-grey misery, a heaving, restless plain that swallowed amateur sailors and hid monsters. To Commodore Andrew Carter, it looked like a chessboard, and every swell hid a move. He stood on the port bridge wing of HMCS Halifax, the biting wind whi

Blake may be clueless, but Jason knows.

    Chapter 6

I do explain this, again in a future chapter. Tarquin, Oliver and Orel each have a third of the trust stipend that is paid out to them from the principal which is locked. Orel has never touched his income, it was managed almost exculsively by Tarquin. Oliver's share is used for the household budget as he, like wise, doesn't spend it, but ensures the house funds. Tarquin's share is leveraged to the hilt. He depends on Orel's money to float him and keep him liquid. He is invoicing the town budget, and the Heritage fund (UNESCO) money for his "Projects" which he justifies expenditure for and extorts Oliver to sign by using Orel for leverage. Oliver is just as tied to this embezzlement, and he knows it. But trapped into the cycle. Tarquin pins Orel - > Orel pins Oliver -> Oliver pins Tarquin and so on in a cycle of misery. So, control Orel, control the money, both the Stipend and the Heritage Fund. Except now Orel's found Finn... and things are about to change.

As @drpaladin described it best, monsters don't let go of their favourite toys.

    Chapter 9

Caleb was a way for me to show the... predatory nature of a lot of these national conventions and ralleys... happens on both sides. Really predatory environments

Man I forgot to mention, there is ONE other reason it took this long. You will see why soon enough.

    Chapter 9

It's mentioned that it is a very specific window once a week. So there is time in between the plan and the execution. Andrew, for example, has completed his survey flight and would be back in Newfoundland by the time this happened. The next chapter is a nail biter.

    Chapter 9

They were both pushing buttons, aiming to hurt the other there. Stupid boys being stupid boys. Out of the two of them, I think verbally Finn held his own. Kyle won the physical fight, but he's hurting.

    Chapter 9

Will is very well read, but I think it's more his father's lessons he uses in this situation. The man was a bastard, but he honed Will for this, sharpened him into a warrior. Will's relationship, like all of ours, with our fathers is a complex thing. As he reflects in his own lessons to Jake and Tom-boy. West's lesson on the bed before the fall of Ottawa when he guarded those boys about their Grandfather was equally as poignant.

    Chapter 6

It's hard going for him. It's easy for us to look at him as the strong one out of the pair, but he has his moments of weakness, fear, and overwhlemed... Orel grounds him as well... they balance each other in a way that no one else has done with Finn.

Orel has Synesthesia, so his experiences of the world are very different. Here is a good explanation from those with the condition:

For Orel, it has, he has his Finn. Lydia sees it, Oliver is starting to. I am hoping you do as well.
  25. Chapter Six: The Curator of Safe Things The Morning Inventory Orel woke. The silence was not an absence. It was a clear, cool liquid he floated in, suspended between the quilt and the ceiling. He opened his eyes. The morning light through the window was not just grey; it was the exact color of quiet—a soft, porous silver that let the world in slowly, piece by manageable piece. He moved his hand beneath the covers. The weight of the quilt was not a weight; it was a gentl
