Ha, right now I am debating what I want to release next. This first slot (I get two a day) is usually what I call "Action Adventure Hour" Where as my second slot is more my experimental, romantic leaning, or just weird slot. i am trying to resist releasing another Carter book right now, I am sitting on two, i think it would be a bit fatiguing... I also want a break. i have some adjacent stores, one about the Annexation of Toronto (set right after Throne) but again, more Carter is a bit... no not right now. So I think I am going to shuffle things around, release 13 Hearts in this slot, while releasing something wholley new in the midday slot. Or I can release something... hmmmm let me think on it, will know in a couple of hours.

it is the same farm, the same farm house. West's bedroom is in the old Dining room of the farm house. A hundred and fifty years in that family. A cornerstone of my Merrickville stories, and the Carter books.

There's something nice about the Cam/Henry and Kenny/Steve dynamic. Those Hickey boys are vibrating engines of utter chaos, and their boys, patient and loving, showing that there's someone out there for everyone.

one more to go

They are both at a point where they are very broken, And their toxic relationship starts the ball rolling for both of them to start healing. That catalyst begins a massive shift in Merrickville, for the better.

Epilogue: The Green Valley The Harding Farm. May, 1886. The scar on the land had healed. Where the dynamite had gouged the earth a year ago, the grass was now a vibrant, defiant green, fed by the spring rains and the deep, rich soil of the valley. The stone wall had been rebuilt, the rocks fitted with a patience that spoke of permanence. The sugar maples were gone, but saplings had been planted in their place—slender whips of promise that would not yield syrup for a generation,

We can presume that the Harding Farm is somewhere on the Red line in Lanark County. I haven't figured out exactly where, I keep it nebulous Oh turns out I am wrong, they do put a train station in (it is NO LONGER there) But was during the turn of the Century 1885 onwards I guess.

you can see on this map, mill Street, where Grady's Garage, Vicker's supply and haulage, and Merrick Manor are located. Main Street where Steve and Lydia's intersection is located. the Mill Street Bridge in the middle, leading down to St. Lawrence Street, where Steve, the Slaters, and the Fraser's all live. The yellow oval would be where Levesque Hotel, Grady's gunsmiths, the Flour Power bakery, and Skate or Die... all locations in the books are.

Yep, there is a rail line that goes around Merrickville, and a rail bridge that is rather important to Ontario's industrial health. It makes for a good victory for our lads.

Orel is a treat, he's eccentric, not autistic like everyone just assumes. His view on the world, on his own innate magic, and the power of wishing is earnest, earned, and a wonderfully different way of looking at the world around us. Finn's journey from tragedy, through self-destruction, to being found by his Orel, loved and healed by that is a journey. It's hard a points, but what he finds in his strange little weirdo of a husband is defiant, fierce and unrepentant love. I hope you like them, they're a powerhouse of earned love.

Don't worry, the Loyal and the Betrayed is coming. Ollie and Axl, Orel and Finn have to help cousin Lydia save the town from bankruptcy. I will be sure to include more intimate scenes in that one.

Chapter 8: Family (The Real Kind) The envelope arrived on a Tuesday. Axl found it wedged between a pizza flyer and a bill he couldn't afford to pay, half-hidden by the stack of mail that accumulated on the kitchen table because no one ever remembered to check it. His name was printed neatly in the corner: Axl Fraser, 42 St. Lawrence Street, Merrickville, ON. The return address was the University of Ottawa. He stood in the kitchen for a long moment, holding it. Th
