    FS Chapter 3

For the next ten weeks, I studied hard, spent my lunch breaks with Ryan, and I was spending Tuesday and Thursday evenings each week, doing night classes, to improve my language skills in Spanish and French, where both lecturers where impressed with how fluent I was when I commenced the classes. On a Saturday in early March, I celebrated my 17th birthday, and a few days later, after completing the required hours of driving practice under supervision, I completed and passed the hazard perception t

    FR Chapter 13

Our first stop was to the bank, where I deposited the three cheques into the Charter company account that Gramps had established, and I withdrew $15,000 in cash to hand over to Jasper, Kirk and Leon, as part of their bonus. Once this was done, we headed to a stationary store to buy supplies for school. This included a laptop computer each, with all the required software, some memory sticks and cards, plus some notepads, and writing supplies. When we arrived back at the yacht, I called all t

Once this was done, I washed out the van, and dried it using high pressure air, and a clean rag to wipe away any small patches of dampness, before closing and locking the van up and I headed to the office with the keys. “A job very well done young man, you have prevented us a lot of grief, and possibly serious injury as well, tomorrow, I am going to get some extra security cameras fitted into the van, two from just behind each of the two front seats, pointing diagonally across towards the back d

    FR Chapter 12

When we were just 200 metres off shore. I turned into the wind to spill out all the wind from the sails and to slow us right down. Once we were slow enough, Simon lowered the dinghy into the water, and headed for the beach to pick up the lads. Just as he was reaching the beach, I spotted two vehicles heading towards them at high speed, but suddenly they stopped when another vehicle with flashing lights approached them. That is when I saw a smiling Jasper walking over to the main deck from t

    FS Chapter 1

I had left my hometown at the age of 16, after having been outed to the whole community during the spring community fair. The day after the fair, I returned to the city with most of my belongings, after my mother made arrangements with her sister, for me to stay for the remainder of the school holidays, and till I return to boarding school in late September. My aunt Jean was a kind spinster, who always had time for me no matter what, and she happily accepted me into her home, which was only a fe

    Firestorm

Life had been going fairly normal for 16 yo Mitchell Benning, until the annual spring community fair, during the 3rd term school holidays. One sentence from his so called best friend ended all of that in one fair swoop. A day after the fair, Mitchell packed up most of his belongings, and he was sent to his mother's spinster sister to live, and with hard times on the farm, he would not be returning to boarding school for the final school term of the year. Many years later, Mitchell will return to his home town, and a firestorm of a different kind will strike the town, not just the one with him returning to face the community.

“That is a great game, I will have to challenge you guys one day. How was your afternoon play with the Fenton children?” I asked them. “Good, but they act like spoilt snobs sometimes,” Jedd said to me, and both boys chuckled. “Just make sure that you don’t say that outside of this room. They are paying guests remember, so you have to be on your best behaviour. Let me tell you about our first group of guests. “They were three couples from the USA, and we learnt within 24 hours, th

    FR Chapter 10

We could hear the kids laughing on the main deck, so we stood up and looked over to see them on the swim platform, with their nanny supervising, and we both smiled. Soon after George and Mimi appeared still in beach gear, and they climbed into the Jacuzzi. Leon appeared soon after with a tray with two glasses and a bottle of chilled white wine, which he placed near the Jacuzzi, before pouring out the wine. “Can I get you both something?” Leon asked with a smile. “Just another cup of t

    FR Chapter 9

“Kids, I want you to meet Mr Hamilton. He owns the yacht that we will be going on later today after dinner,” their father said to them. “Hello, Kids. I have two half-brothers that are around your age, who will be joining us in a few days, so I hope that you will be able to get on with them. Is this the first time that you have been on a yacht?” I said to them. “We have been on a cruise ship once,” the eldest girl said to me, and I smiled and nodded my head. “This yacht is a lot s

    New Story Coming

Hello my followers I hope you enjoyed the story - Uncertain Future Stay tuned for a much shorter story - Twin Change Simular to a movie that came out on television a few years ago, but different in many ways. Felix and Finn are twin brothers separated at the age of two years, following the separation of their parents. One twin remained with his mother in the UK, while the other travelled to New Zealand, his fathers home country.

    UF Chapter 7

Edward said he would be happy to buy my share of the two units from me, even if I didn’t move, so as to help set me up with a secure financial future, which is the most important thing on my mind, so as to ensure Toby has a good and happy life ahead of him. Four months later, I received word from Mr Fythe, that both the family home and the shop had been sold and the money deposited into the account. He said that even if I don’t return, that he was always happy to serve as my layer whenever

I went upstairs to the bridge to speak to Jasper. “I was expecting you to appear fairly soon. Kirk has already told me,” Jasper said as I appeared beside him. “What do you suggest that we do about it,” I asked Jasper. “Well, let’s pray that we get some really rough weather, and maybe that will encourage the guests not to continue with the voyage,” Jasper said with a wicked grin, and I just laughed. “Oh, yes please. That would be awesome. If I retract the pontoons, will that m

Fifteen minutes later the trio entered the front office, with big smiles on their faces so happy to be together again after such a long time apart. Edward informed me that he was very grateful for organising for him to spend time with his younger siblings, and that he would never forget the chance to hug his little brothers again. Edward said goodbye to his brothers, so as to return to work, promising to see them again real soon, and suggested that they keep this reunion a secret from their gran

    UF Chapter 5

Now that I had been formally introduced to all of the residents, I began to settle into a routine, with work at the hardware store till 2pm, 4 days a week. I made sure that I had at least one day off from doing anything, that being Sundays, for the rest of the time I was doing cleaning and maintenance work in the building in the afternoons after work, gradually making the apartment building a lot tidier and refreshed, with the front entry totally repainted, and some more decorating improvements

After paying the $1,342 shopping bill, we pushed the trolleys down to near the beach, and carried the two dozen shopping bags to the dinghy, before setting off back to the yacht. When we arrived, Kirk and Leon where on the swimming platform waiting for us, and helped to bring on board all the shopping. Jasper also arrived to help us get it from the swim platform down to the main galley below. Once that was done, Simon got to work to start planning dinner for 6 guests and 5 crew, while Kirk and L

I helped Simon with the cleaning up of the galley, while Gramps, Isaac and Jasper relaxed upstairs on the fly bridge, where they were in deep discussion of some kind. When Simon and I arrived with a tray of tea and biscuits, they went very quiet. I looked at Simon who just shrugged his shoulders and put the tray down, while I commenced to pour the cups of tea. “So, what’s with all the big secrets?” I asked once I had sat down, with my own cup of tea. Jasper chuckled and smiled. “Not re

    UF Chapter 4

Going to the library I designed and printed out 50 invitations; “Dear 401 Grenadier Street resident, you are cordially invited to attend a terrace party at 7pm tonight, location is on the apartment roof terrace, entertainment, refreshments and snacks provided, dress is semi-formal”. Once I had perfected that, I now had two days to organise the event, from the college newspaper, I found an advert for a string quartet, available for social events, and I booked and paid for them to provide live mus
